True, if it's "only" 900 combined, I'd be really really happy.
Coincidentally, Honor March seems to cap at 900 too.

Anyway if I were to pick which slots for the new "song+" gear, I personally would love the Neck and Waist slots.
Make it at least a T1 recipe that doesn't use mats that cost a gazilion of gil raw like Stikini Ring.
    NQ stats= Song+1, Sing+15
    HQ stats= Song+2, Sing+20

    Nomnomnomnomnom :Q_ _ __ _

I'm actually worried it'll be like Stikini ring.
NQ stats = All Skill +15
    HQ Stats = All Skill +15, Song +1. 300M

Have they ever done something like that for items considered their way to "fix a job"?
The only precedent I can think of are Animators and SMN ammo, and they weren't really extremely expensive (about 20-30m for an HQ, and the difference between HQ and NQ was arguably that that huge)

"Fixing" a job through items is a bad game design idea to begin with imho. If something is broken then bloody change it instead of releasing a new hard-to-obtain item that does it.
But then again as I said above, when they released items like these, they never made them so incredibly rare or expensive as the Stikini Example, at least that I can remember.
Am I forgetting some noticeable example?

    Marsyas?
    Daurdabla?
    Gjallarhorn?
    Carnwenhan?

I can't think of obvious examples outside of the Bard job, but Bard is rife with them.

Those are RMEAs, not items you craft and buy on AH.
Ok we can stretch the meaning and say you can "buy" most of the required steps and that in the case of BRD they were indeed used to "fix" the job, but it's not really what I meant and SE never pompously announced to release those items as a way to "fix" BRD job.
    It's kinda... different?
I wouldn't put those on the same boat as Animators, Satchels, or these upcoming Song+ items honestly

Good old SE. Tells us about buffing songs tells us they are going to give us more +song gear... and changes +song gear to gimp it for a lot of songs though maybe mostly for lower tiers. Wonder how it's going to be a separate step multiplier or just add in with marcato/SV or even worse something silly like add with them and still cap at 2X lol

While again not a buyable item epeolotry is definitely a fix for run tanking. In a sense all those delve boss crafted weapons were fixes for the delve as a lot of groups had trouble clearing those without a few delve boss weapons

They added RME items to the AH and RMEs have always had a price. Regardless, I know you agree that BRD at the moment is only a really great buffer if you have nearly a billion gil in gear. Melee jobs need 1-2 RMEAs to be high tier. BRD needs four.

Marsyas - Honor March is currently our best song by a lot, so this is necessary
    Daurdabla - One more song
Carnwenhan - Required to fulltime a Marcato'd Honor March
Gjallarhorn - Really pretty minor boost at the moment for most songs over the second best option, but helps inventory, song potency, magic accuracy, and duration.

They haven't mentioned reforging Relic gear or anything and weapons/instruments would conflict with RMEAs, so I assume this update is going to add either an Ambuscade set or accessories with Song+ on them. I lean towards accessories because we just had a BRD Ambuscade set.

They are caving and making those fake reports of +song DM augments real

Either way I don't see it being ambuscade due to how they release the sets and job groupings. The first set of sets included exactly 1 piece for each job. Only 1 set left in the second set of sets and only jobs left are geo, sch, blm. I'm sure all the other non melee mages on the last set or really most would shit bricks over brd being the only job to an extra set

    I'm hoping accessories though

They specifically said it would be a slot different than instrument so that it could be used concurrently with Instruments, altough it's SE we're talking about soooooo yeah :D

I'm leaning on crafted accessories using the same mats that they put in Omen last patch for the weapons, moonbow belt etc.
    We'll seeeeeee :D

We believe this adjustment will increase the performance of songs all around.
"We believe"? "WE BELIEVE"?!? Am I the only one interpreting that as if they arent even sure if it will increase the performance of songs?

Well it's not really clear cut. The numbers they gave us the +song update nerfs some buffs others and unknown if there will be enough +song to compensate on the nerfed ones. The skill change well it might force some odd choices between skill and +song/duration and these guys don't play/min max.

From the way that the english-side post by Sicycre is worded, it sounds like the changes to skill and caps are going to result in a guaranteed boost across the board compared to current values. I doubt they are gonna wanna deal with the backlash of ANY songs getting effective nerfs from a supposed buff.

And I could be wrong, but I also am getting a bad feeling about something... Has Sicycre ever actually posted a non-translation post? >_>;; If not, this does not bode well for non-JPside posters having any pipeline to communicate with the dev team. I know they got at least some sort of feed from us before since there have been a couple updates in the past year that included stuff from our side only. (Something about sending chocobo cards comes to mind.)

Naw I bet you lower tiers will be effectively gimped (at least until you get more +song gear) I definitely see them making this an overall buff but trying to make it less of one to brd rotation/mega prebuff strats

I find it kind of funny that they gave us an Adamantoise enemy for the "We fixed bard" patch.

I would find that quite unexpected, considering they patched the chat dialogue a few months ago to allow more QoL while getting multiples of the same piece to convert sparks into gil.
I mean, for what other purpose would they have released such a change if not for that?

Not that weird. It's not the we fixed brd patch it's the monthly update changing out enemies in ambuscade and adding new synthesis content... that also happens to include some various magical and omen adjustments. iirc for actual update announcements and not just partial this is upcoming stuff they generally only show the jobs if it's something like new spells and/or rema related but basically adding content in some way vice adjusting existing stuff (though ambuscade is something of a stretch in that regard)

Side note it the way they worded this makes it sound like my fear of this just being the first in a line of quests for the Escutcheons and them not being added yet might come true. Damn you SE

Extra edit: seems jps got an extra dev note talking about trust haste. Apparently they didn't give the ranged ones including the ones that stay at range snapshot and it was totally intentional and screw you for wanting ranged trusts or something to that effect

I think sparks gil is deliberate as a lot of gil goes out to vendors that's not otherwise recovered. I'm guessing it's an exploit fix of some kind.
