Did he report my post cause I called him full of shit? Damn snowflakes.
Its just lulz worthy that someone whos admittedly doing nothing with FFXI but botting and RMTing for over 2 years is going to whine about how the devs arent doing anything with /checkparam or whatever else.
nynja's persecution complex strikes again
you weren't reported
No, they reported me.
I've never reported anyone. for anything. anywhere. ever.
Snitches get stitches.
We need more snitches in this world.
New devpost:
JP1) In reply to the devs' request for confusing medicines, someone brought up that quite a few food items are still missing their help text. Devs replied that in the next version update, they are going to be adding the help text for: Sugar Rusk, Chocolate Rusk, Coconut Rusk. O_O ABOUT DAMN TIME. That is all.
Does anything meaningful ever get asked or responded to these days?
Like what? I've been waiting on Rusk descriptions for 2yrs+, so it actually IS meaningful to me that we will finally KNOW what they do. XD
I'm just reporting nearly everything from the JPside dev tracker (excluding system notices that NA get at the same time,) and don't keep up with everything else on JPside, so it's quite possible/probable that others are asking "important" questions and I just don't see them since they don't get answered. ^^;;
So glad FFXIV has complete transparency for items/skills, though I admit it was fun trying to find modifiers for spells/abilities/weapon skills over the years. Too bad there's probably dozens of little modifiers or hidden latents that we still don't know (and may never know).
Best part is there has probably been so much natural turn over in developers over the years that there are probably latents that the CURRENT development team don't even know about.
Honestly, i think that obfuscation is part of what gives ffxi such lasting charm. i mean its no fun being an adventurer if there's no mysteries to be solved. then you're not an adventurer, you're just a pencil pusher.
New devposts:
JP1) Weekly dev post summary. Nothing new.
JP2) Something about a comment Fujito made during the Dengeki Offline Party thing regarding item storage being "broken". It was apparently used as a figure of speech, nothing is wrong with the current implementation, and there are already verification checks in place so we don't have to worry about our wardrobes suddenly disappearing. ^^;; It will be very difficult to continue expanding further however without causing problems. You'd think they'd know better than to use any wording that nitpicky players are going to spaz about... Personally, I saw that they were drinking during that party and say we should blame that for the mix up. XD
I'm pretty sure this is the main reason why they refuse to touch any of the old content like Abyssea. I don't think it would hurt anything if they were to lower timed NMs' respawn timers for instance, but they don't have anyone who knows their way around that system well enough to risk breaking things, so they just refuse to try. :/
I still find it bizarre that they left out the "baby" ones you can buy w/ bayld... But the ones from Curio were a glaring intentional omission, so I am looking forward to finding out what they actually do.
So they're doing something about HQ rate. Their lines are always vague... Is it something "general" that will apply to everything? Is it something that will only apply to new or recent recipes? Is it some specific bonus from the new shields?
My convoluted hypothesis:
1) Byrth some time ago tested the rusks extensively and noticed that they weren't producing any HQ rate boost at all
2) Unsurprisingly, SE never added the precise text description for these food (they weren't working!)
3) SE decided to finally "fix" this issue, but because of spaghetti code to fix the food they had to do something bigger behind, as a result, this boosted the baseline HQ rate on all crafting recipes, which will go from 1% (old value) to xx% (new value). As a consequence of this the Rusk category of food will finally start working as well and because of that SE finally decided to add the precise X% bonus to their description.
These are my thoughts, based on absolutely nothing but a personal hunch.
Sept. Update Announcement:
Possibly big changes incoming.
* Ambuscade: Monster HP, hallmarks and gallantry are all going up "at certain difficulty levels" for Intense Ambuscade. They are intentionally trying to make the fights last longer in an effort to reduce congestion. The idea being that if we are spending more time fighting, we'll be spending less time comparatively waiting in line.... -_-;;
Seal bonus also going up.
* Next stage of Escutcheons is going live:
Why does this sound absurdly expensive and not-fun to me? Like spammed HQing of voodoo gear, 50,000GP requirement or the like... I'm still waiting for something to happen w/ Pagodite, so maybe we'll be trading in 10,000,000 of 'em or something equally annoying and gil-sinky instead. Note: The devs did say that they were shocked that some players had the last stage done w/in 24hrs of going live, so I'm expecting something that is impossible to do quickly.Originally Posted by POL
* Sechs already mentioned the crafting HQ rate increase, but it reads to me as a pretty clear baseline change to all crafting/recipes. BTW, how are we going to determine the new base rates? Any volunteers for spamming T1 recipes?
Spaghetti Theory may be true. lol I also wouldn't be surprised if Rusks were functioning as a multiplicative mod to base rate rather than additive. If that was what was happening, then the supposed 7% would be 1.75% for T2, and a measly 0.4375% for T1s, neither of which would be easy to observe. OOC, has anyone noticed any HQ+ gear that did not appear to be working?Originally Posted by POL
* The voted-on limited time trust will also be going live.
* Likely to be new ammo included in the new synthesis recipes as well since they are adding something to quiver-ables.
This whole "Adjust HQ success rate" thing is something I will reserve judgment on. It does sound promising though, but wouldn't more HQs mean less potential profit off said HQs?
I guess it would depend on what it is. I've been HQing the hell out of Hepatizon Saparas which is basically funding a relic on a same account mule. However, depending on how this all goes, I wouldn't mind attempting some T0 stuff, like a Stikini Ring or something.
