Yeah would have been nice if they went into detail about it. Love to see the stats on it.

Who here is expecting further enhancements/adjustments to the Job Specific stuff of Relic Armour?
I'm not. Maybe some random things here and there, but I'm getting the feel the JS stuff will stay the same as they are on the +2 version (which were already featuring enhanced stuff compared to NQ/+1).

Are you people expecting 4 different type of "trials" to upgrade Relic Armour? Or less? (currently there are 4 types of AF: NQ, +1, +2, +2 Aug)
Making +2/+2Aug the only 2 viable starting pieces for 109 Reforged would play well, from a synergy point of view, as it would promote people into doing dynamis, making forgotten items valuable once again.
Altough I guess they can obtain the same goal by making the required materials difference between NQ/+1 and +2/+2Aug noticeable.

I'm expecting minor increases to give us a reason to get it. With the way the ilvl system is set up, it wouldn't take much in the stat department to make the relic stand out above the RF+1, though I don't know if they'll take that road or not this soon. I hope they don't, I'd like 119 to be a sort of cap that allows for side grades along it. Maybe RF+1 piece x is good for TP, RFR+1 x is good for WS and JAs, etc. Most I know in game seem to be under the impression that RFR+1 is going to be some badass gear that obsoletes everything prior. :/

Gotta agree that they'll split the reforging process down the middle though. NQ/+1 and +2/+2 augged each having a path. Still need to earn the augs though, whether that's before or after you reforge.

There's a few more dev posts that I can't make much out about. Matsui talks about the reasoning behind some things stacking and not stacking (furniture and large fish don't stack because of additional details contained in the item) while giving some reasoning why logs and ores don't stack, though I can't make out if he's considering changing that.

Gugnir is being changed to not proc it's defense down while Angon is in effect. Wonder if that'll carry over to any other stronger forms of defense down.

Some changes concerning the infamy/prestige that you earn during MvP kills. Looks like it's being changed to 20%x2 of their points, or 10% of their points + their system amount, whatever that is. You get whichever is lower. Prolly some concoction of their lvl and rank.

Something concerning "packet-sea summoning of summoning magic." Also that Atomos (and presumably Cait Sith) are a ways off, but their release is firmly planned. Uh huh..

Something about WoE that I can't begin to make out too. Wtf is a bonus walk?

They say that they're still working on the Blue Magic spells that are weirdly inaccurate, too.

It's what it has been since the release of SoA, but I doubt things are gonna stay capped at 119 once the new Delve comes out (if it ever does?).

It would be easy for SE to make Reforged RA be a good option. Many of us still use those pieces today, if not fulltime at least for macros. Sometimes it's because of the original JS enhancement, more often it's for the additional augments.
Having these 2 things on an item which also has level 119 stat vomit (and maybe something else original here and there like multiattack, haste etc) would already make A LOT of those pieces interesting not only for macroswapping, but for other situations at well. Not all of course, but there's a lot of interesting stuff.

Also, I'm afraid (wrongly maybe?) that some of those Augments/JS Enhancement are already very powerful in the +2 version. Making them even better could be... dangerous. Well, at least for some I guess?
In spite of this, as I said, even with the same exact augments/JSE, they could still be very very interesting with just the addition of ilevel stats.

    Wtf is a bonus walk?
Maybe what was requested/suggested long time ago? To have each day a "bonus WoE" so that people concentrate on that specific one? But this was an issue back then when level cap was 99 and there was no people around and WoE was very hard to solo/lowman.
Today with all the adjustments that followed and with the 119 level cap I'm not sure it's still necessary.
(better drop rates would! 2 days ago I got a SINGLE Liminal Residue out of 20+ WoEs I soloed! >_____>)

I foresee many of DNC's relic pieces being useful just with the typical stat vomit additions (and Haste). Head for Waltz/Trance. Body for WS/VF/NFR. Hands might be a PDT tp piece in some situations. Lega for TP/Jig. Feet for ACC TP. If they actually improves stuff like the violent flourish enhancement then that would be even better.

What does the Casaque do to Violent Flourish? Add a big chunk of macc to the stun part? With macc coming from mainhand as well, I wonder how much more reliable VF is compared to stun these days.
Did the +2 version have more macc than the NQ version? I guess it's hard to measure lol

What I'd really love, in general, is a complete replacement of non-ilevel items. They're fine to use when they're just macro pieces, but when you have to fulltime them (Thaumas Coat!) it's annoying because you get no "level up" from them.
But it's hard to replace something like Thaumas Coat... unless you go for similar stats of course, but we haven't seen much of MA stat on ilevel gear aside from some rare DA/TA here and there.
DNC has a similar problem with 2 body items. Tipically on DNC you'd use Thaumas when hyperbuffed, and AF3+2 when not. Neither of those have ilevel =/

Yeah, AF3+3/4 body are going to be great.

    ilevel Empyrean Armor :Q_ __ _
Wonder how far they are in time. April? May?
They'll need to keep a close eye on those Job Specific Enhancements. Some of those are pretty broken already with the original version. Making them even more powerful AND adding stats vomit could really bring up unwanted consequences.

Body speaking btw Reforged Emp Armor wouldn't solve the issue for jobs who currently TP in Thaumas Coat tho. MNK, PUP, I dunno what else, BLU? THF? Well RUN too but lolrun.
Unless of course they start putting some rare and powerful stat on those bodies, in addition to the typical statvomit (which alone wouldn't be alone to compensate for Thaumas' stats, I'm afraid)

I'm curious about the MNK relic set getting stat vomit. Could have a ridiculous amount of HP in a TP set with Mantra up lol.

I don't believe it is wise to use the coat when TPing against high level mobs solo or when you get ample hate. The stat vomit and defense bonuses, IMHO, make up for the chances of triple and double attack. You could also switch to your i119 body and a windbuffet belt too.

Not sure I get what you mean.
Imho it's just a matter of accuracy.
When your only purpose is damaging, Thaumas > the rest (at the moment).
Do you have enough accuracy? ==> Use Thaumas.
Do you lack accuracy? ==> Use something else.

It's not a matter of getting hate, since I assume you already switch to one of your many PDT/DT/MDT builds when something bad happens and the monster faces you, or when a strong TP move/AoE stuff is coming at you. So even now you shouldn't get hit by those moves while wearing a Thaumas Coat, and there's no reason to TP in another body (except for one of the reasons mentioned) just because you might get hit by a dangerous move.
Just swap to another body before the move hits you?
I'm talking in general btw, maybe you meant some specific situation and that's why I missed your point.

I mean mostly when soloing against DC and better. The defense bonuses and stat vomit really help cut down damage.

There's lots of situations against very powerful enemies like AAs where you often can't react in time to swap gear before you're heavily damaged. You can take hate against HM and have him instantly Swift Blade/Chant du Cygne you, EV can do Diaga > Dominion Slash, or Kam'lanaut can Dispelga > Light Blade, etc. The situation often changes too rapidly for humans to reliably react in time, and if you get nailed with Thaumas on, it hurts noticably worse than if you had say, Otronif on.

Uhm... that's quite a different point of view from the typical one of group play.
I dunno what to say to that regard, depends on what you're fighting. If it's something really tough then yeah, you'll probably full time Otronif Gear (atm at least, in the future who knows).
But for DC mobs? Ungh... depends on the job and the playstyle.
If you're using ranged doll and /DNC then probably yes.
If you're using the Healer Doll I doubt it would matter, actually killing faster would probably be more beneficial than the damage mitigation gained by higher def and higher vit on the ilevel gear.

It's kinda hard to set a general rule for these type of situations I'm afraid, but I wouldn't be so fast in ruling out Thaumas Coat even in those.

Like what? Mind me I'm not trying to be belligerent, I'm just naively asking.
You talked about AA but as far as I can tell from my (moderate) experience you just use Utsusemi there, and for stuff that goes through utsusemi it's usually oneshotting damage (or close to that) so you have to rely on Earthen Armor/Scherzo. TPing in, say, Otronif Body wouldn't really make that much of a difference other than reducing your damage (I'm talking of situations which I haven't already considered before, like the mentioned lack of accuracy etc).
    Dunno, just thinking loud here.
I always fought AAs with PLD strategies though. Suppose it can be different when you go with just melees strategy without a tank?

Kam'lanaut can Dispelga > Light Blade
Now this is a good example.
Altough I'd call it the "exception" (which I mentioned above) and not the "general rule" I was talking about.
Still have to try Kam'lanaut, scared at the idea of having to rebuff my songs every 2 nanoseconds because of Dispelga >.>
Dispelga is just cheating anyway >.>

Random secondary stat wishlist for NIN reforged relic armor:
    Feet: Magic accuracy, Fast Cast
    Hands: Fast Cast, DW+
    Head: lol

I, too, am looking forward to ilevel Empyrean Armor. Annoying that a lot of the DW jobs are stuck missing out on tons of stats because they have important DW+ pieces in major slots. For DNC it's body, for NIN it's head.

Isn't Thurandaut +1 a good replacement for IGA+2 head on NIN? I seem to recall I managed to hit haste cap (thanks to Hachiya Legs/Body) and Thura head +1 and I was getting better DPS result from this than IGA+2 on the Spreadsheet.
Unless I fucked up something D:
ilevel Iga head would be awesome of course, not denying that, but for the time being I'm saying.

It depends entirely on what buffs you have, because you get 19% haste if you wear full Hachiya +1 minus the head, 1% from Thurandaut +1. You're losing a giant chunk of damage if you sub Iga Zukin +2 with Thurandaut +1 if you're not getting any buffs. If you are getting buffs you probably wouldn't be wearing Thurandaut anyway, you'd be in a hasted set of some sort and don't need DW gear at all.

Hmm maybe because you're implying to tp with patientia sash? I don't own one so that's one thing i didn't test.
My test was with my setup, derp. I don't remember what the set looked like but i think it was hachi body/legs, otro hands/legs and then it was uhm iga+2 head/windbuffet or thura+1/cetl, something like that? Since then they also added some 119 feet with 5% or more haste for nin btw (AA drop)

I'm wondering how dangerously close we're getting with nin and all these dw gear. Let's assume 8X on koga+3, 8 from hachi body, 7% from earrings, 6% from iga+3, then patientia... Whooaa that plus capped gear haste is quite some speed. Pretty close to swing speed cap? It's gonna be painful to swap between over so many different tp sets (in ADDITION to the typical ones every dd gets) just according to how much exact magic haste you have at any given moment lol
