Honestly I'm can't beleive they didn't make them 117 to begin with

If XI lasts another 11 years, you can bet this thing is going to 199.
We have to learn to love it.
Power creep is going to be a difficult thing for Square to keep in check, take a look year after year how fast we've progressed in character strength, when they deiced to increase item strength again I don't really want to think of what will be considered the norm, and what will be considered impressive at that point because the numbers already for what is normal and impressive are already pretty silly.
I agree with this... or fuck let me get a copper voucher and trade it in for a +1 version that's 117.

New just now
Update made about the new area... Outer Ra'kaznar
So Ra'kaznar... zilart relation maybe or just coincidence?
Images of Outer Ra'Kaznar, wonder if they gonna update the SoA site?
Wonder what's this thing:

Obviously it's a higher level fortalice with no evasion for us to skill up to 99 on! :D
(i wish)
Could be a lair reive column. I'm guessing reives in this palace thing are more against the technology defenses kinda like the robots in zilartians places.
I just hope they capitalize on this opportunity to expand the story. So far, we've been lead on to believe that there's no civilization past the walls of Adoulin on Ulbukka. Obviously, that's incorrect. If the NPCs aren't shocked, and it's just played off as some new area to colonize, Imma be pissed.
I believe they were saying that we are going to get more missions and col ranks this update. Hopefully we'll see some reaction amongst the NPCs.
That's true probably just a coincidence or another alien civilization.
I'm kinda hoping for aliens this time around or a faction of the zilart that were either lost or split off or remnants/survivors of the meltdown.
I honestly don't think it'll end up being Zilart. The only thing that links Ra'Kaznar with other zilartian zone names is the apostrophe and somewhat similar structure... everything else is wrong.
Ru'lude, Ru'aun, Ro'maeve, Vu'legganon, La'loff, Tu'lia, Al'Taieu, Hu'Xzoi, Ru'Hmet... they all roll together in a mildly poetic way; they flow freely off the tongue. No Zilartian zone uses "Outer" or "Inner" either; it's always a garden, a palace, plain, something like that.
Then... Ra'Kaznar. It's guttural. It's different. It's rough. It doesn't match the theme. Kuluu at best, the architecture fits something like Pso'xja a lot more than anything Zilart related (but even then it doesn't match anything we've ever seen before), and the name feels more Kuluu than Zilart; Kuluu names are more sharp, and they're known to use Outer and Inner (Horutoto). I'm banking on it being a new civilization like Aht Urghan had. Reusing Zilart/Kuluu again would be lame, and writing in some splinter cell of Kuluu that managed to evade the Zilart and somehow make it all the way across the hostile sea to Adoulin, only to mysteriously die out just like the mainland ones, would be lame as well.
I'm hoping it's some kind of Dragonian race. There's been no mention of Adoulin's Wyrm/Dragon lineage from any NPC in Adoulin itself... despite the fact that the little we knew of Adoulin from before it was announced as an expansion was a bloody NPC that can shapeshift into a fucking Wyrm. Yet that's not even mentioned once in Adoulin, no mention of wyrms, dragons, shapeshifters, dragoons, nothing... seriously.
They did. I've enjoyed the different aspects of the missions so far (seeing the political differences boil over, assassination plans, Heartwings possessing people, the King turning into a Leafkin, etc) but they've really just been all over the place, no real direction to them it felt like. I mean, the very first time we get to Adoulin, we see someone (a kid? I honestly forget) getting attacked by Snapweeds in Ceizak, then Heartwings come and taunt us, and Arciela and our character use soul pyres to ward them off. Then nothing, til this last mission, where they're apparently possessing people through random trinkets that they hide in, in order to get back to the forest.... wut?
I'd just like to finally see some direction to it all, patch it all together, make sense of it, etc. Teodor will be the one to do it, I hope. I'm certain he knows far more about whats going on than anyone else.
I wouldn't be surprised if Hades or whoever is the bad guy is a remnant of the Zilarts who found his own little sandbox to play with in Adoulin. Or perhaps Ra'Kaznar is the remains of a Zilart palace that was blown here after the Meltdown.
that would open up soooooooooooooooooooooooo many plotholes.
one of the easiest ones: why isn't it built out of cermet
every single zilartian structure is built from cermet. why would there be just one built from an unknown substance in a completely different geometric style?
I was hoping Achtelle and Bravo woule be making cameos somewhere. Achetelle seems like she would be part of the Karieyh order or something
I bet it was the leafkin. They were once a great people turned into beastmen!!! Seriously though there are like 1 per zone but up in Kamihr nearish the ruins there are 4 right next to each other... coincidence? I think not.
Also some kind of dev post about food and pizzas. Also something something but finally doing those fishing adjustments in a few months and adding fishing RoE objectives
The food post is talking about how people want food to persist through death, especially because of long foods like Pizza. They don't really want to remove it because they want losing food to be part of the penalty of death, but in regards to it being really annoying for long foods, they want to counter that by adding more recipes. In February, they are planning on allowing us to slice pizzas. (One would think it'd be something Vana'Dielians would have thought of long ago since we are running around with sharp objects but whatever, whee)
Fishing adjustments + RoE Fishing is planned for March.
