For those who have more jobs that use the same gear exemplar sch and whm
Do you buy accessories first to gear both or try the af2 on a specific job first?

Content is just fine. I work a full time job and still spend far too much time on this game and just got my relic last week and my 1st crafting and gathering classes to 50. Between leveling shit, farming for myself (fuck you shards), helping out FC members on Garuda/Titan and running dungeons with friends because fuck FATEs in the ass, there's plenty to do.
Yeah I guess if you hardcore dickswagswag'd up to 50 within the 1st week and pounded out the content like a $3 whore you'd be annoyed...but thats like the top guilds in WoW who beat the heroic raid in a week and go "FUCKING GIVE US SOMETHING TO DO, JESUS BLIZZARD"
Personally I get the Myth pieces I want for SCH without really considering WHM. That said all I have right now is SCH myth hat ('cause Vanya Robe) and going for Hero accessories next-ish because I'm a crit-whore. WHM currently using AK head instead and I don't really care enough to improve it unless I splurge on Rose Gold Circlet to share on BLM/SMN.
I'm not the slightest bit interested in levelling a second character on the same account right now. I do wonder if I'd want a second account at some point though (see: FFXI).
There is an issue and I can see it looming for me but I think that it's one that SE will relax a bit once there is more content out. Right now they are catering to the majority and not pandering to the minority by slowing down what you can achieve each week. However, having just completed a relic (1/3 to +1 it) even I can see what's going to happen.
A friend is capped in DL, has his Relic +1 and is slowly working on Myth for relic armour but he's bored. Our group doesn't have many ready for Coil ( 3 tanks, 2 DPS and a healer who have their relics) and spamming AK or WP for tomes gets kinda old already. He's not into crafting and isn't that interested in levelling something else. He already has DRG and MNK (focus is on MNK). For me lack of content is less of an issue because I am into crafting/gathering but even I am going to be hardpressed to have much to do in a few weeks.
We're not really at endgame yet, just a temporary stop and I'm willing to give SE until 2.1 but they need to be sending out some clear signals about timing and what they're going to do with events or people will just drift off. It's not THAT long until ESO...
I do feel like making AF2 and Coil pieces so close to each other is kinda meh from a perspective. Though I guess it allows you to gear up multiple classes using a combination of the two, or just devote all your myth for your main class and then stockpile Coil shit for w/e you wanna fuck around on. I plan on getting most or all of my War AF2 and using the allgan from coil drops for my PLD. Lack of Crystal Tower kind of hurt end game, but at least there's a lot more to do then some games that have come out recently (hi2uTera)
The people who are complaining about the coil currently being a boring 45 minute farm are the extreme minority. Without myth caps and coil lockouts, these people would have had full i90 weeks ago and would be still be here today saying that there is nothing to do.
There is no solution for that.
You say this as if you aren't doing the coil exclusively for the loot (which is particularly laughable given that you supposedly have it on boring farm status).
Or are you saying that you would be fine with unlimited coil runs with a once-per-week limitation on drops?
Huh? SCH AF2 body has more crit than Vanya body can and AF2 hat doesn't have any crit at all. I'm getting exactly the opposite (Vanya hat + AF2 body) for exactly that reason.
Judging by the Turn 5 kill video posted today I would seriously hold off on buying Accessories untill your HP is high enough assuming Turn 5 is your goal.
I hit 50 2 and a half weeks behind others on my non-legacy server and am still sitting pushed up against turn 4 once a week. Its not hard to reach the near-ceiling of the base game. If you're the type who focuses on making a single class as strong as possible, lockouts absolutely pose a problem. Hell, they pose a problem for the alternative as well.
As for why I haven't leveled every other combat class to 50? I'm waiting to play the classes I'll actually enjoy in a party setting... you know... in a party setting. I want to be able to enjoy the ride to 50 instead of fate-grinding onry because no one runs dungeons that aren't on your friend's list because SE can't be arsed to play their game enough to balance between FATEs and dungeons. I'll start leveling other jobs either when the coil group needs them or when SE finally makes dungeons rewarding enough to ferret a few people out of FATES.
I'd like to run coil more for both additional loot and more experience with strats, but its not possible unless your purposely wipe throughout the week, which is terrible for morale.
Is it my business if you're slow? Some people like to progress with friends or alone, some like to rush, some like to take their time. If you're spending all your time playing with your dick and not progressing I'm not gonna care, but then you're saying "oh, you played the game how you wanted to play it? WRONG! There's so much to do if you play it like me!" which is idiotic. Of course you'll have shit to do if you as quick as molasses at doing it, but no one can tell a person how fast or slow to play a game since it's their choice.
What? Getting to 50 in this game is a joke if you take it even a little seriously. If you think getting to 50 in a week is hardcore then I don't know what to think about your playstyle or mindset. Baffling. And yes, I'm screaming "FUCKING GIVE US SOMETHING TO DO, JESUS SE" because that's what all my posts on the subject imply. Yep. I simply can't wait and it's all SE's fault.
so many whiny bitches in this thread and e-thugs lol
that being said the lock outs are pretty bad and make me play other games :/
Should I feel bad for starting this?
I ended up just making another character. I'm that kind of guy who leveled 2 mules (PLD and WHM) to max during 2007 when CoP was still hard and shit, so I guess this kind of thing doesn't really phase me. I also got banned in 2008 and restarted then as well, so I suppose I'm semi-used to all of this restarting stuff. I think in the end it's going to be worth it because myself and another friend are basically going to use our Alts to plug some holes in Coil groups my FC is trying to form still, so it should work out in the end. Even if we didn't have that possibility, I would still pug it when I got her all geared up just because Turn 1 is easy enough to kill with some coordination even for Pugs, and one shot at loot a week is better than nothing.
I personally love the fact that FFXI and XIV have this system where you really don't NEED more than one character
On other MMOs I had anywhere from 2 to 12 characters, and trying to keep up with all that (money, levels, gear, crafts) can take a lot of dedication, especially if say, you want to do an event on a certain character but that same character is far below the level that lets you join in on the event, because you spent most of your time leveling character A or B or X Y AND Z.
I love how in FFXIV I can level ONE character and put all my time/focus/dedication on just him. I can level up all the crafts and classes. Do all the events, and need only worry about his gil, and gear and levels.
I don't have to log onto an alt to send something etc.
Or if I feel like going from tank to DPS, no need to log out and level a new char, I can just switch on the fly.
Right, and you made the choice knowing that shit wouldn't be there at end game. Despite the game having been released before, they redoing everything results in them requiring time for end game. When MMOs launch 99% of the focus is on the leveling experience and low level shit, with just a few things to do end game wise, as the game matures, more shit is added to end game activities with less added to lower level things because of the population shift. Do we have documentation showing what % of the playerbase is at 50 and sitting at turn 4 with their dicks in their hands?
Getting to 50 took me about a month, because I did other shit on the side, ran dungeons for friends/FC members and crafted while also playing other games at times. After playing other games and shotgunning to max level fairly quickly I felt like taking my time, reading everything (even the filler shit) and just strolling around looking at the environments.
And yeah I get that there are legacy people with all 50s in everything and even non-legacys with all 50s in everything too, which yeah sucks and I can see the frustration. Lockouts while annoying, are just shitty ass ways to make content last a little longer because the devs know some of the playerbase will burn that shit up. Also didn't Yoshi P mention that he wanted this game to be something you could log on, play for a few hours each day and then log out and not be a 2nd job?
Big difference between being able to log in for 2 hrs and get something worthwhile done and only having 2 hrs of content worth logging in for.
