    Any new info regarding plug-ins/addons?

Decided to make an actual topic for this.

Has SE released any official statements about whether it's within the TOS to use plugins like FFXIVApp/Xpadder etc? I recall reading somewhere that they were going to announce official add-on/plugin support sometime, soon, but I haven't seen that yet.

I'd dearly like to use this and Xpadder, but I'm still holding out for an official statement of some sort.

iirc, FFXIVApp has been officially recognized and given the green light.
As for other apps such as Xpadder, i'm not sure, but I imagine if it does not do anything to alter/exploit the intended function(s) of the game it should be no issue.

I would be surprised if SE allows addons in the game, I welcome it though. I like the default UI for the most parts but there are some things that could definitely use some customization like inventory for example.

It's already been established that they are releasing an official Addon package probably around the time the PS4 release comes out, if not a little earlier (I forget the timetable). Addons that would be similar to how WoW handles Addons, paraphrasing.

Hmmm, anyone have a/the link to the official stance on FFXIV App? I Googled but didn't find much.

Though, if they are going to officially release add-ons, I might as well wait till the PS4 launch. I'm currently unsubbed anyway.

Last I read addons were at least 6 months away as of when I read it, which would have been probably a month or more ago. IDK when PS4 release is and don't feel like looking it up.

There's also an injector that was given an "OK" by a forum dev, but they warned of potential malware as well.

SweetFX Injector, not your standard PE or dll injector etc.

    Isn't packet injection always illegal?

6 months is a bit long to wait...might have to go troll the official forums a bit for more info. Well, I might if I could actually access them...

Would love an accurate aggro and dps meter.

I personally hate how I can't see how close I am to losing threat unless it's actively targeted (even sub target doesn't show it).

Even if they just switched the colour scheme for the hate bubbles on the enemy list for tanks it'd help.

So Green was hate on you, Yellow was hate starting to get close, Orange hate about to be lost and then Red you lost hate it'd help immensely.

I seem to remember that this was the way it was for tanks during 1.0 too, but I might be confusing it with another MMO's feature... Ha p

Although an "about to lose threat" indicator on the "bubble" list would be nice, I find I have plenty of time while waiting for GCD to tab through the mobs I'm tanking and check status on each. Makes it less boring as well since you have something to do in between actions.

I think it would be easier to read if it was a % mark instead of a bar

    Even on large aoe pulls?

Also I think I remember someone actually saying it was a percent thing during alpha or something, and people wanted to change it back to a colored bar. =x

I find it works fine up to about 5-6 mobs, any more would be more challenging because it'll take 2 gcds to get a read on every mob. I guess you can always weave in a flash or OP if you havent found a worthy target within one GCD of tabbing. If one manages to slip through there's always voke+tomahawk/lob or even stun.

Since I play warrior, threat on big packs isnt much of a problem for me (safety > TP/MP efficiency on huge pulls) - so I don't really need to watch threat meters in those situations. Dunno how much harder it is for PLDs as mine is sitting pretty at 22.

Why not both? Give people an option for use either colored bars or numbers. Or even...colored numbers.
