Two powerful obesity organizations are having a hard time stomaching Charles Barkley's offensive comments about fat women in San Antonio ... and now they're calling for Sir Charles to apologize.
Barkley lashed out against the big boned community in S.A. on "Inside the NBA" last night -- saying, "Some big ol' women down there ... that's a gold mine for Weight Watchers."
He also said, "Victoria is definitely a secret [in San Antonio] ... they can't wear no Victoria's Secret down there."
The statements are not sitting well with the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance which is now calling for Chuck to apologize, ASAP.
"Making slurs about body size is just as offensive as making comments about body color," spokesperson Peggy Howell tells TMZ Sports.
"One would think being a black man, he'd be more sensitive to having his physical body criticized. It's totally out of line. He should absolutely apologize."
The President of the Obesity Action Coalition has also issued a statement expressing "extreme disappointment" with Charles.
"As a former NBA player and sports entertainment figure, Mr. Barkley should encourage equality and respect among society and not look to shame or segment one population because of their size."
"Obesity is a serious medical condition and not a joking matter."
We reached out to Charles for comment -- so far, no word back.

So fucking funny. Also the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance actually exists. What the fuck.
Peggy says
Obesity is a lucrative and attainable medical condition. More attainable than ever before with double-fisting churros - that shit is hilarious. Shaq is gasping for air cause this is a solid joking matter. And his mind's in the gutter.Obesity is a serious medical condition and not a joking matter.
Victoria is definitely a secret down in San Antonio. Can probably add OKC in there too.
Pretty sure Chuck can make fun of obese people. If he's gained any weight at all since his playing days, he's one of them. He was 6'6", 252 lbs. listed as a player. If he's 260 now, his BMI is 30.0 - aka medically obese.
What the fuck is advanced fat? That shit belongs in an RPG game. Even if I was fat, I'd be insulted to even be associated with such a farce of an organization.

For the past few weeks, "America's Sideline Reporter," Craig Sager, has been working on his golf game in an Atlanta hospital room.
His wife, Stacy, bought him a putt-putt mat, and on Wednesday, Nike surprised him with a custom-made putter with an imprint of one of the flashy sports jackets he has worn as a reporter for the NBA on TNT for the past 17 seasons. That's mostly how Sager has stayed active while receiving treatment for adult acute myeloid leukemia.
The rest of the time, he hasn't missed watching a playoff telecast yet. While he has no return date—he might need a bone marrow transplant at some point—he's making progress. For now, he says he's doing "the old Tom Thibodeau: I'm day-to-day."
Speaking with Bleacher Report this week, Sager shared what his hospital stay has been like, some intimate moments with Charles Barkley, a surprise gift from Kevin Garnett and much more. With his consent, his story is presented here from his perspective, edited for clarity and length.
Oh god I was watching last night and watching Shaq nearly fall outta his chair as Charles double fists...something, I just.. oh god. He's golden.
