HOW THE FUCK IS THAT A FOUL
lol blake arguing that foul call
such language does not befit a gentleman of kia
Don't care who comes out of the west at this point as long as they can beat Miami. Zombie Spurs would be my pick if Parker and Duncan can stay healthy.
So now that the Clippers are done, how different will the team look next year?
They need to find a way to not have big baby as their third big man. He is awful
Amen.
can't imagine they bring back crawford. you only had to watch a couple games to realize he's more trouble than he's worth. a shot chucker who'll maybe win one game for every 2-3 he sinks due to his godawful defense and shot selection. probably hunt for a better big and a SF too. maybe pierce will sign with them but he's only gonna be a defensive liability at his age.
also don't really see how they can pay any decent backups, and their best one (collison) is probably leaving. so they'll probably get worse unless blake turns into a real monster next year and they get some good vets to sign super cheap.
So, game 1 next season, are the Clippers boycotting? There's no way the team is sold in the next 6 months.
I doubt it. So long as the NBA is demonstrating that they are doing everything they can to try to get Sterling removed, that allows them to save face by playing and collecting their paychecks. Them boycotting would hurt the league more than Sterling, and I don't think a boycott would actually speed up a sale much, if at all, since Sterling's going to dig his heels in.
Prediction: this thing doesn't get resolved until after Donald Sterling dies.
So, I know nothing about divorce law, but during halftime (I think?) they said that if he wife files for divorce, his assets become frozen till those proceedings go through. I think the only chance for the NBA to get this done quickly is if the owners vote (like this weekend), he takes it to court, and the courts throw out the case saying he doesn't have grounds to sue. However, I imagine his wife will file for divorce as soon as the vote happens, so even that wouldn't really help things. So then my question becomes, how quickly can divorces proceed?
I skimmed the NBA constitution and didn't see anything in there about all owners being booted if one is voted out (not saying it's not in there, maybe there are additional documents, and maybe I just missed it), but if that part is in a signed document, even if his wife gets half the team, they can remove her like that. Beyond that though, I see no chance of the NBA owners approving her as an owner, even if the divorce happens.
I don't think the Clippers will boycott, but I'm curious to see if anyone demands to be traded/out of their contracts. Like Byrd said, the NBA needs to put on a show that they're doing everything they can to move this along. The bottleneck will be the legal system, and hopefully the players realize that and don't cause problems for next season. I think Doc said during his postgame interview that he's under a contract, so he's not going anywhere, so I guess he'll still be there. Are any of their major players free agents this year?
If a majority owner is voted out, all owners lose their stake. Donald is the 100% owner by NBA rules, Shelly has never been ratified as an owner. Whether a pending divorce would hold things up is the big question.
According to this: http://www.spotrac.com/nba/los-angeles-clippers/
Only Granger, Turkoglu and Ryan Hollis are free agents after this season, all of which were veteran minimum signings anyway.
http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/s...ling-situationPLAYA VISTA, Calif. -- Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin says he doesn't anticipate Donald Sterling being the owner of the team at the start of next season but admits he would have to make a decision on his future with the Clippers if new ownership were not in place.
My source at espn says ibaka out for rest of playoffs
