Amazon fucked me on my preorder. I put it in on the very hour that the price was announced at e3 (think I even posted that here) and my order was canceled yesterday. I call them up, "your order was canceled automatically by our system because we do not have enough units to ship on November 15". I'm livid.

Now i'm nervous, because I didn't pre-order within the first hour....

Considering Japan isn't getting the PS4 til 2014, the odds of another shipment coming out over here before that are very low. I still think that's fucking insanity that we're getting a Japanese developed system before Japan. I keep saying I'm going to hold onto mine to flip it at Christmas, but the tech geek in me will have me ripping it open the first day. Then I'll realize later that I let it sit there the first 6 months untouched and could have probably made $500.

Yes, they have. They don't want to launch it there without better games available.

It's pretty easy, from a business standpoint they need to focus on locking down North America and Europe. They're not jumping to release in Japan because they know they already own them, and MS has made it abundantly clear that the country isn't a priority for them.

try Toys R Us, they're still taking pre orders in my city.

There is absolutely no reason to buy PS4 or X1 at launch, unless you plan on flipping it to some parents who procrastinated for Christmas gifts. If you are buying a PS4 for yourself, on launch, you clearly have not learned from the past 50 console launches.
