Just set it so far in the future that the true events are lost and everyone has their own theory on what happened and how it ended.

They can probably just use a blanket "Shepard saved the galaxy" statement. It applies to all the endings without being too specific.

Well - if he did the "Merge" ending, then everyone would be part mechanical. That's kind of a hard thing to "sweep under the rug" so to speak.

The official Mass Effect FB page posted the same E3 trailer and says it will be released "Holiday 2016".
