Just finished the game. All in all not very impressed. This was definitely a noticeable step down for Bioware. I would say this is easily the worst entry into the ME series.

Should I get the juggernaut shield in multi-player? I don't see the need for a 4th strike team yet

I just teleported into a wall... and had to reset the entire Vault mission
Sweet
I pretty much exclusively play Explorer and I've definitely blinked into some bad spots. The save system makes it more annoying than it really should be.
I've learned to never blink near staircases.
Edit: Wroooong thread.
Peebee's Loyalty Mission spoilers
Spoiler: show
Space Grandpa (Drack) is the best squadmate. His loyalty mission and cutscenes after were amazing.
To whoever said they died while in the middle of a conversation, I think I know exactly where/how it happened... lol.
Cora really grates on me but her loyalty mission was pretty cool. I love those kinds of levels, it's why the Collector ship was my favourite part of ME2.
She's definitely not great.
Peebee and Drack are the only things keeping this game interesting. Unless I'm forced to take another crew member they are my one and only.
Probably just me but I have never found any Asari in any ME likable.
Drack 100%, been bringing Jaal just to see what he's like but it's more or less a tossup between him, Liam, and Vetra. Although Vetra is susprisingly bland. I used Javik a lot in 3 and Jaal seems like mostly the same deal but less "fuck life fuck primitives fuck everything".
Jaal is boring.
Managed to get the Matchmaker achievement by romancing Peebee, the reporter, and the Angari archeologist.
Finally finished the story after doing all of the available quests. Wasn't terrible to me, but the constant technical glitches were annoying and the story was flimsy at most parts. I'd probably give it a 6.5/10. Looking forward to see what they're planning to do with the DLC.
I can't finish the seismic something or other quest because the NPCs won't appear for the last one I need to do. A bunch of Kett nearby will constantly spawn out of one Kett, so that's pretty funny at least.

I had this nearly happen to me yesterday. Was at a remnant area, one of the little bug things spawned and was beating on my ass while in a conversation. I thought to myself, surely this thing isn't taking away health right? Fortunately the conversation ended when I was at 25% hp and I didn't die. Fucking Bioware, lol.
Yep, same spot. Part of one of Jaal's missions on Eos. The Remnant crawlers kept spawning and one beat on me while I was in a conversation at the probe thing. I died but had to finish the conversation (and the only way to finish was by using X to skip Ryder's dialogue) before I could reload a save.
Also had an amusing death later in the same mission where I died but my armor perks restored my health the instant I died, so I was alive but stuck on the floor. Had to just lay there until an enemy killed me again because I couldn't access the menu to manually reload.
That is like..one of the most blatant oversights in programming lol. It's real time, sure, but I said it before I'll say it again: It's very obviously done by a B team lol, so can't fault them too much, they did well all things considering. It seriously needed at least another 6 months of polishing though.
As a programmer there's a lot of stuff I just have to laugh at in the game. Like the first new entry in any list having to be scrolled off of and then back on to in order to get the ! to disappear because they're not marking things as read if they were auto-selected. The health regen perk thing was one of those "...lol" moments. Had another scenario on Kadara where Vetra died to a Fiend the moment I killed it, so she was dead on the floor but also alive walking around, meaning I had that ALLY DOWN marker up but couldn't revive her. To my surprise it persisted even after leaving the planet and returning. I fixed it by swapping Vetra out for Drack, going into the Badlands, returning to the Tempest, and then putting Vetra back in.
Most of it doesn't even really bug me that much. I haven't run into anything game-breaking yet. Just a lot of amateur oversights for a game that was delayed, twice.
Even as a recreational programmer/modder there's some decisions in here that make me wonder if they even made a second pass after they finished each piece of the project. Honestly feels like they didn't. It's honestly in the "Bethesdan Realm of Jank" imo.
Also, the more I play the more I'm convinced the reason conversations happen in real time is an attempt to hide the iffy facial animations. In some of the cutscenes it literally looks like the audio track is just ahead of the mouth movements by half a second.
