The travel skip could be faster but I'll take what I can get. On the whole game seems to be running at better FPS too. Happy about this patch.
The melee "nerf" allows enemies to stagger you with their melee.
Makes vanguard a bit more fun actually, have to mix in more dodges against stuff like berserkers that are bullet sponges
People are pissed about the melee nerf but honestly Vanguards were borderline overpowered.
I think it's more that power classes and all guns besides vanquisher are underpowered. Per a tweet, that's supposed to be addressed in the next update
Having played both to the level 10ish range, I prefer human vanguard. You don't have to worry about activating/keeping active blood rage, your mobility is MUCH better since you aren't krogan and don't rely on fortify, and you have perks for melee recovering shields and auto full health every 10s if you hit 25%
Not to mention it's a common class and comparatively much easier to cap for extra skill points
Finished the SP story last night. Overall I enjoyed it, even though I don't think the story quite matched the gravitas of the previous games in the series. The combat was definitely the best and most enjoyable part of the game for me. I found most of the crewmates to be enjoyable, except Gil, didn't really care for him. Liam started off pretty bad but his loyalty mission turned my opinion around. Drack and Peebee were my favorites. The game had much more potential, but I feel it suffered from having to be rushed out by the end of of EA's fiscal year. It definitely needed a few more months of polish for the animations and glitches which we've all read about and experienced.
Ending & future DLC/sequel stuff:
Spoiler: show
smooooooosh

Finished the game. 7/10, mostly for the bugs at release. The ending was... ok. I think I was 100% before the last mission so I'm finished with it until DLC.
ME2 > ME3 > ME:A > ME1
Fight me if you must
I'm banning you for a month.
This is unacceptable.
ME1:ME2>ME3(post patch)>ME:A
ME2 is the best. That's all I got to say.
If ME1 had ME2's gameplay, it would be a GOAT
may have been a while since you dudes played ME1 but the gameplay is janky as absolute fuck. also the mako is terrible and there are endless reams of poorly concealed exposition. 2 is clearly king. massive improvement in shooting mechanics, by far the best companion roster, story is tighter and better paced than the others.
Way I've always looked at it is that as the story got worse, the gameplay improved. ME2 stuck the best balance. ME1 is legit just awful gameplay wise in comparison to more recent games. 3 has well designed cover shooting mechanics, but the story is pretty disjointed and dat ending.
