I've only been playing the game for 7 months and am already tired of orcs and their ugly architecture. Am i going to be seeing more of the same come WoD? So far all I've seen are the garrisons and i find the horde one dull and uninspiring.

I don't get it, can someone clarify?
WoD home faction town hubs are auto-flagged PvP? Right? Or am I missing something.
Doesn't sound that bad on paper. Unless it's the PvP cooldown flag that people are worried about (i.e. stepping out = cooldown starts, but someone might jump you). Or are people worried about faction imbalances whereby a server where there's significantly more horde/alliance will overrun the other constantly?
Essentially, the cities are non-flag (if you're PvE) but when you step out of them you get flagged, even on PvE servers.
1. PvE people are annoyed at having the capital cities with all the portals/vendors/mog/upgrade/etc in an auto-PvP flag CRZed zone, so the minute they step outside they'll likely get stomped, especially if they're on the faction with the lower population. Essentially, forced PvP, unless you flight point out (and people really don't like flight points).
2. PvP people are annoyed at the amount of lag this will cause just by having all those AFK and idling people in the main PvP zone of the expansion (Think Tol Barad with SW and Org set in the main battle zone).
3. PvE and PvP people alike are annoyed that the new capital cities are ugly rehashes of the same ugly Horde buildings and boring Stormwind buildings instead of the really pretty and actually unique Draenei and Ogre architecture. Shrine was somewhat nice (imo) but people hate that Alli and Horde Shrines are basically mirror images of one another. So think Domination Point and Lion's Landing as your new capitals come WoD. People were excited about the new architecture and having nice, interesting cities to hang out in.
That basically covers the main arguments against it. Not thrilled at having the same ho hum Horde buildings ... again ... I was looking forward to something different.
Ah so cities are fine, but the zones they're located within are auto-flag. I see I see ....
Bleh, not a fan of that at all, I really dislike PVP. >.>
A statement from Lore about all this faction hub stuff: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/to...7249?page=3#57
This bit really does kind of make me go wtf:
Um....I would think with saving their asses that we are helping them? So, as development continued, we came to the realization that it just doesn’t make sense for the Horde and Alliance to spend so much energy and resources building up a stronghold on Draenor, only to base their efforts out of someone else’s city. We’re not helping the Draenei or Frostwolves fight off the Iron Horde – they’re helping us.
And surely it would make more sense to use an already established base of operations and use what resources that would of went on their own one on more useful stuff, also if they are helping us...giving us said base would make more sense (or in the horde case, liberating one)....i really can't see much logic in this decision but maybe i'm just stupid :S
Edit: Oh and since it was recently brought up, the Heirloom tab is apprently not going to be in at launch and will be added Soon™ after it

That is such a bullshit response. Oh my god. Yep, continuing to be pissed off about this shit.
Indeed seem like every other blue post or tweet makes WoD more and more lackluster.
Does the Beta PTR say something about Warlords of Draenor? I'm "active" for a PTR, but it still says "Mists of Pandaria".
Edit: Nope, it's not it.
the cities aren't actually in the pvp zone, they're right outside of it btw
Am I the only one who really doesn't like Lore? He annoyed the shit out of me everytime he opened his mouth on GamebreakerTV to basically cup Blizzard's balls on everything they did.
Nobody really cares too much about "oh well our main city isn't the cool looking one because of the lore guys"...when Blizzard has constantly shit all over the lore anyways. Why does it NOW suddenly matter? Yeah it makes a little sense, but the players don't give a flying fuck, they want a cool and interesting city that doesn't look like a mirror image of the Alliance's and has some sort of style to it.
it boggles my mind that people care
at all
because you're playing a game whose graphics are from like 1998 that just got OMG MASSIVE UPGRADES for character models only to make them look 10 years old instead of being 10 years old and looking 20
where you do absolutely nothing meaningful whatsoever in the areas you're talking about
plow if you really don't understand after all these years of FFXI and internet, you have not been paying attention.
we don't even get a mog house in wow
and hell now we kind of are so you don't have to go sit in the cities while you're afking
also wow cities have identities sure, but not like ffxi
People invest a shit ton of cash and time into games like this, so yeah people are going to care about things, even as minor as "Why is this city so shitty?" even when we're getting places to go afk at other then cities while we wait for LFR and never speak to ANYONE EVER!
I agree, the cities in WoW have always been pretty piss poor other then Stormwind/Org, they all lack any ambiance or make you feel a part of them. FFXI/XIV have some of the best cities by far.
Also graphic upgrade isn't 10yrs I wouldn't say, more like 5 (if they would update the hair to look better it would shave off years from the models a bit)....but honestly why the fuck is there NO FUCKING VARIATION in any of the faces?
http://media.mmo-champion.com/images...FaceForNow.jpg
like...what?
I honestly don't mind all this sameface shit hardly ever see my characters face what with helmets and mostly stareing at the back of their head but can see it being a problem for some.
Just think it'd take them even longer to add in extra faces and with the way they are going at the moment i don't see it getting fixed by launch, they've either bit off more than they can chew with this expansion or some catastrophic shit has happened internally that has set everything back 5-6 months so they are having to prioritise shit to make good of a release this year
Wish they would actually fix the over-proportions of the human models. I play a human in every MMO but can't stand them in WoW with their huge hands, calves, and stick up their ass running animation. Adding more details to their bodies means little when it'll be covered up with painted on armor. I know it's part of their style and likely won't change but i can still be grumpy about it.
I like the human females in the game. Mostly their hair options. But the men are all garbage looking
