    Can't right click Desktop on Windows 8.1

    Just got the free upgrade from Windows 8 to 8.1 and now I can't right click on my desktop. When I right click it just does the circle loading icon and never goes away. Any advice? I tried google but nothing came up. I'm using Start8 to start from the Desktop by the way.

    with 8.1 you can boot straight to desktop without any third party software. I'd try removing start8, or at the very least reinstalling it.

    A few programs get a little wonky in the transition. Think back to before you installed 8.1: what kinds of things were in your right-click menu on the desktop? I know amd's graphics card properties with their icon is there, and likely nvidia's and intel's are as well if you have those devices. There might be something else there from before too that didn't take well to the upgrade, but first guess might be your video driver if it was too old to know about 8.1. Updating what programs you can might help.

    Just incase you don't know where to find this. Right Click taskbar > properties > navigation tab > first option under start screen. Also I recommend the second option. Looks good and seems to be less confusing for the confused.

    Tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Tried taking it off completely and still nothing. I only remember things like Screen Resolution, Sort, New, AMD Catalyst Control, ect.
