One of our primary bards plays in the UK so I can relate with late stuns. If he does stun, it's usually at the last 10% because of the ping he has. Something like 400-500
Was his accuracy capped? He's not missing HV. He activates Blunt Arrow with plenty of time left (about half the casting bar), it even starts his cooldown, and ADS goes on as if he did nothing.
As a BRD, even one who plays on PS3, High Voltage is not that hard. I only miss it when there's a serious connection lag (very, very rare) or I'm being a retard and trying to do too much at once while not paying attention. One shot the past four or five weeks with no missed Voltages. It's not that hard. If you're having trouble, you're either tunneling or you have a terrible ISP (try PingZapper if that's the case)!
I don't go brd too often because my blm is overgeared and I blow shit up real good, but even when I do go occasionally I never missed and I play on ps3 as well. Hell, one of our MNKs usually covers silence stuns in T2 with arm of the destroyer so I don't have to go brd and he hits that shit everytime on ps3 too. The worst part is is he has to be in opo opo form or something for it to work, so if he can get into form and nail it there's just no reason you should miss as brd

Guys, smn is not a pet class. AT MOST it is a minion class. Duh.
didn't read it yet but I can imagine it's more peopel butthurt over the size of their egi
It's not the size, it's how you use it, amirite?
it's motion in the ocea- attacks?
Yeah that would be pretty bad lol. I don't mind the egi's at all, I actually kind of like them.
A couple of those people are really awful at expressing their opinion, but I guess I can understand the general thrust of wanting a pet class that's more pet-centric, kinda like how PUP was in XI. Saying "lol it's a minion class not a pet class" is Grade A OF stupidity though.
I wouldn't personally, but in sad realityland, with most modern MMOs, pet class usually just means "You're a DD thats slightly nerfed and given a bland unremarkable monster/Pet that recovers the DPS we nerfed from you".
The Egis aren't terribad, but in all honesty they're an insult to the Final Fantasy series as far as summoners go... But its not like they could give us XI size summons in this game without it becoming annoying... I guess...
DRG - DD w/minion.
BST - Pet jorb.
PUP - Pet jorb.
SMN - Garbage.
XIVs Summoner would rightfully be called a Warlock if Final Fantasy had such things. The size/art direction of the Egis is questionable and you're locked into a DoT class with not-quite-primals tacked on to remind you the class is Summoner. Certainly better than XIs 45sec one-trick pony but a marked downgrade in staying true to what a Summoner has been in Final Fantasy.
I understand people feeling short-changed. When you imagine a Summoner, you think of a fair-sized beast being conjured to do the masters bidding. Certainly something larger than the Summoner at the least and not the glowing stones that make up the current egis. Or even Dissdia Yuna style where you summon the beast in partial form to do something before it poofs back into the void.
Ifrit, I choose you! Use Radiant Plumes under that pack of mobs!
Titan, use a Landslide then away with ye!
You mean a BLM (or WHM) with different animations for it's spells? Because that's what Summoner was for a majority of it's existence up until 10 where you actually got to control one. If they animated SMN's spells so typical summons came out and applied the attack, there would be a sharp decrease in the amount of people bitching that SMN doesn't give them their FF feels.
I actually support general complaints about Egis because I think the aesthetic of a game is important. I like balanced gameplay too, but in RPGs I feel like if you let the gameplay take precedent over world building you'll end up losing a lot of the flavor, which is the main reason I enjoy RPGs anyway. (I know there's an explanation for why Egis are what they are, but again, that's a explanation that was retroactively thought of instead of being "this is what the world is and we'll base gameplay off that", LOTRO for example balances that quite well)
I actually thought the Egis looked great in the concept art, they look dorky in-game though.
Not really, but Dragoons had barely any control over their Wyvern (not to mention it was pretty weak outside of some impressive healing breaths) so I don't really see how that's relevant.Would you consider dragoons in XI a pet class?
