DRG isn't that hard to play, is it? All you need to do is keep 1 buff and 1 debuff up and weave in jumps inbetween while using a regular rotation. That's how I saw it anyways, or unless I'm also in the scrub bracket lol

EDIT: make that 2 debuffs, but it's part of the rotation anyway hence I counted it as 1

More or less, but the timing is often tight enough that one instance of the boss turning to throw whatever spell/attack will unravel the whole thing. I'm a pretty scrub dragoon myself, but my experiences have pretty much been "You missed a directional? Start over at the top."

Nothing about it as to why not to bring a smn but just a smn being retarded in general and winning a greed lot. Greed is greed unless stated/confirmed otherwise :s

but I did lol at "We finish the fight, with me dropping an always satisfying LB3 Meteor" reminds me of when I eat taco bell

It bothers me he explicitly mentions the SMN in this capacity. "He starts the run for us early, messes things up and dies, commits nothing to the actual fight, but still manages to have the audacity to Greed role for loot which he did nothing to deserve or earn."

SMN has access to an instantcast raise. Level your fucking cross-class skills before you complain about other SMNs slacking.

DRG isn't really hard to play but the price of a mis-step is much higher compared to any other job, in my opinion at least. MNK loses only a tiny bit of potency for messing up and still keeps their de/buffs going (though they have their own special snowflake issue in GL).

Or more to the point, a lot of random DRGs don't know what to do in the first place so they're "mis-stepping" constantly.

Can't tell you how many times I've barely missed getting Heavy Thrust 3 or 4 times in a row because a group of mobs are moving around. The phase in Turn 4 with two Spinner Rooks can be a nightmare for it sometimes. The start of Titan heart phase (any version) is basically one shot at doing things right or you're screwed. Heavy thrust as Titan walks back into position from the middle, then Impulse Drive before he turns for landslides or you're screwed and have to wait about 2 GCDs before you can start again.
