I don't see the issue with an easy mode coil that drops nothing. That said, I don't think it would be used much either.
In theory it'd be a practice mode, but what would they expect to be made easier about it and yet still be practice for the real thing? Just give people a "hey you would've been one-shotted" message and let them keep going? idk
I'm surprised they don't do go WoW style on it with multiple tiers, myself. LFR (DF) for the easy content with shit drops, normal difficulty with normal drops, and then the hardest difficulty with the best drops.
Casubads get to see content in all of it's nerfed glory, average players get something in the middle, and the best players in the game get rewarded with the best items. Add more bosses, add multiple pieces of gear per class per slot for itemization purposes, and boom you have yourself a raid.
Only if you apply it through the SE filter, which means that you can only do practice mode via solo queue DF, no pre-mades. Normal and hard modes are use the same lockouts so if you've done the normal you can't do hard. Practice mode excludes certain mechanics to make it easier but also completely defeating the point of it being practice mode.
Oh, and there are only a set amount of instances so not only do you have to wait in queue for a full party, you also have to wait in queue for a practice slot, and if one of the party leaves the queue, you get tossed back to the back of the line.
I'll never understand why they don't just institute a CT gear lockout, but still let you run it with friends. I guess you run into people selling runs, bad joins party, pros carry to victory, and said bad gets HA Shiny of XYZ. Honestly doesn't bother me though and it's been a common thing with all primal fights thus far (except lolRamuh because no one does it).
Ramuh rings being i100 is my complaint of the day; makes no sense. You had BCOB / Myth / Primal i90 accessories; why alter the paradigm now with i110 SCOB / Sold accessories, but i100 Primal?
Ramuh and ST should have been released at the same time as coil 2 if not before.
They did the same shit with CT1, but CT1 was supposed to be ready at launch and was delayed.
Then, for whatever reason, they just continued with the retarded cycle of releasing weaker gear after stronger gear.
There was an interview where Yoshi was asked about why CT and Coil is still staggered backwards how it is now. He essentially said that they just repurposed CT as a catch-up.
An awful, terrible decision.
"Catch-up" having a lock-out. Genius.
Thankfully it happened to have coincided with Hunts (and thus rendered ST all mostly glamor/rare shituationally better gear), but that was probably more an accidental oversight than by intentional design.
That "mistake" won't be made again.
Just hoping when coil and labyrinth are done they finally put a content cycle that makes sense out.

It's basically Angry DDs/DPS: the Thread.
The usual "tanks are subhuman pieces of shit who leave dungeons whenever they want, give them all the penalties in the world including the death sentence for leaving my dungeon where I'm dealing 5% of the damage I should be!!" thread that seems to pop up on a weekly basis.
Was a few folks in it also saying they'll drop a dungeon on a dime if an S-rank is called, because who the fuck wants to finish a lowlvl roulette when you get myth/sols/seals for killing an S-rank in a minute instead.
Which is a legitimate issue. Perhaps if roulette offered seals as well.
Why even queue if that's the attitude.
