Did some manual editing of the Reshade effect I've been using, shit is looking good. Other then toggling off the DoF for screenshots exactly how it's looking in-game

Wow those look really good, how do I do that?
Also how do I get the busty mod? I can't seem to find it
also after installing the mods is there anything I have to do when I launch the game? or if they're all checked its good?
Thanks so much btw
Is there a no helmet mod?
Kind of. The Armorsmith Extended mod has a no helmet variant, but it's not made by the main developer and is out of date. I also saw a mod that adds in invisible hairpins, but they can't gain any kind of armor stats, just SPECIAL modifiers in line with available headgear. Personally I've just been using modav to give myself the SPECIAL point of whatever headgear/glasses I would be using, the few extras point of defense I would get from it doesn't fucking matter anyways.

If you're on the beta branch of the game, you'll need to set the plugins.ini file in C:\Users\(your account)\AppData\Local\Fallout4 to read only before launching the game, because the beta branches will wipe the list on launch otherwise.
Most texture mods aren't going to have any realistic difference in performance because the vanilla textures are so horrendously optimized. The ones that are big killers are any of the ones adding shadows to light sources and ReShade, BUT most performance problems you experience can be negated by Shadowboost. I'm playing on a laptop (albeit one with a 980M, which is roughly on par with a desktop 970), and except for the really rough areas in downtown Boston I'm generally 50+ fps. The biggest hitch atm with most mods is increased loading time, because it will read from the default archive before going to whatever loose files you might have. It's not an issue with an SSD, but shit could get rough with a normal HDD.
i run a pretty basic package (fogout/darker nights, vivid wasteland packs, reshade, legendary lamps, realistic lights, few other small texture mods) and it doesn't tax it any harder than vanilla did. actually runs a little smoother as the stock textures are pretty poorly optimized. only noticeable downside is the initial game launch hangs for a few seconds, and the first load takes a little longer than normal. 100% worthwhile tradeoff.
to be sure, if you really go wild you'll start seeing performance hits, but even a basic package like the one i'm running dramatically improves the visuals and atmosphere with no in-game downsides. this is on a gtx970 with a stock non-OC i5.
Krandor where did you find the USAF bomber jacket? I went to the armory and don't see it D:
It's on a shelf in there, it kinda blends in with the surrounding environment.
Also this retexture for the Vault Suit is fucking dope, using it as my underclothing now.

Okay found it. Its just too bad I can't have sexy outfits while still retaining all my armor stuff ;x
The Fallout subreddit is getting a weekly post of various popular mods. Can be worth checking out if you're not really sure where to start.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/com...erience_as_of/
i'm sure a lot of those mods are great, but man... reddit endorsing the now that's what i call classical mod over the original station playlist perfectly demonstrates why reddit is so very frequently terrible
not to say the original mix is a masterpiece or anything, but it's sure a lot more interesting than 'hey here's some really safe stuff that absolutely everyone recognizes!'
i'll go away now
Also for any interested, my mod list has updated a bit since I last posted, so here's what it looks like now. I haven't dug too much into individual texture mods so far, mostly just grabbing textures as I find stuff that might bug me.
Not shown is Cinematic Excellence 5.6 Natural Palette, which I also messed with a bit because it gets too dark combined with some of the various lighting mods.
And yes the MSED mod is straight up fucking cheating, but I pretend that I'm doing it for the sake of lore and not because I'm a filthy whore. I have Arbitration set to increase damage taken by 5x (so on Survival it's a 10x damage increase) so I need to take some liberties with the gameplay.
Do you get anything out of romancing people? Are the perks from that or is that just from max affinity?
That's just for affinity/affinity quests. The only thing you get for romance is the ability to sleep with your partner and get a short duration 15% XP boost.
Another very cool mod that just came out today, True Storms - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4472/?

Also if anyone wants to play as Sylvester Stallone, just saw this one - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4494/?
