I got sent home because while I wasn't a mess, they could tell it was effecting me. I've seen people get trapped in engine rooms that caught fire, people shot, etc, all in relatively close quarters, but none of that has hit like the loss of Woozie.

Same. I've was within 4 feet of a guy when he got taken out by a SH60 rotor and it wasn't near the impact of sharv sending me that message. And then going back over Woozie's messages from last week really buried it in the center. I guess it's the circumstances of it. It was just so...I dunno, unexpected.

I didn't give a shit about "Woozie". I cannot think of us interacting at even once. I give a shit about Lawrenzo though. Down to earth dude. He didn't seem to do much on Facebook but when ever he showed up, it was all about laughs. I cannot think of one moment when either of us disagreed with anything. I knew his life was not "easy", I guess I had no idea how hard it was.

BG is often an absolutely terrible community, but it is a community nonetheless. It's important to remind yourself now and then that you're part of a group that is in fact behind you and cares about you, even if most of the time we're smug bastards outwardly.

I haven't really said much about this, not because I don't care, but because I lack the proper words. I wish it came to me as easy as a terrible pun but it doesn't and I'm really bad at expressing stuff. Just knowing there's people like you who actually do give a shit, even if you hide it pretty well, helps more than I can say. Whether it's for stupid jokes, download links, or no particular reason at all, it's nice to feel appreciated somewhere. Having you motherfuckers around helps me have fun and stay positive.

I'm not the most active member of this community, or perhaps even among the more well-liked, but for what it's worth, I appreciate that you're all around, that you're funny, and, at the bottom of it all, kind and intelligent.

If anyone needs help with anything, I'm always willing to lend an ear or a hand.

I can't say I know what Woozie was going through but I have experienced my own share of difficulties pertaining to depression, anxiety, medications, and alcoholism.

I also want to say this to all of you, and especially to those closest to him, like Miz and Chari:

Please try not to play the "what if" game. I know it's impossible not to think about whether you said something wrong, didn't say enough, or could have done more, but none of that is the case, and none of that thinking is what Woozie would want. From your stories it sounds like you all did a great deal to reach out to him and that he had a strong network of support. Again, I don't know what was going on in his head, but I am certain he knew and appreciated that from all of you.
