I feel the Skins need a coaching change, first and foremost. Shanahan is too egotistical to admit his own failings, and his coaching career is over.

As for RG3, it's fucked up to wish that on anyone Tyven, but that being said, he needs a full offseason plus aforementioned coaching change and a bunch of new O-linemen. More recovery time can't hurt either, but at this point I think it's more his lost offseason and bad coaching/O-line than anything health related.

No, it's not the only thing wrong with the team by any stretch; a porous o-line and secondary will lose you just as many games as a bad knee. But that makes it all the worse honestly, because he's out there taking 16 hits a game.

His career is in serious jeopardy, and you never wanna see that
Pretty much this. You hear Shanny and Bobert talk in the press conferences about how he's a young player and getting better with every game and every snap, and one of the reporters last night was like, "Uh, we're watching the games, and you're not getting better." Everyone focuses on the read option but just as a pocket passer all his numbers are down. Sure he can still scramble and extend plays and take off out of the pocket, so you'd think his knee is fine, but simply standing upright and throwing downfield his accuracy is a problem now. If it's the lingering effects of the injury, the lack of off-season work, or simply just a confidence thing, who can say. At 3-8 they need to sit his ass and let him get this nightmare season over already.

How much of it is on RG3 though? Didn't he want to come back and play? Don't get me wrong, as much as I like Shanahan, there's no denying he has his flaws, but I'm not sure RG3 playing this season is entirely on him.

Nearly every player in professional sports is going to say they want to play as long as they can stand up because A) they're competitive as fuck and B) it's their job on the line. It is absolutely the coach's responsibility to make that call.

RE: PFF - I guess this is just one of those instances where my intermittent watching of the Skins doesn't represent their performance as a whole.

Couple of people have mentioned it but you got to look at the offensive coordination and realize that if they're not biting on the play action then you need to rethink your strategy, and probably just switch in fuckin Cousins because god damn RG3 can't throw the ball right now

The Washington is screwed here all around. You can Shanahan, you potentially stop running the zone blocking scheme which made Morris what he is, your new coach might not want RG3 (KC12 is still an unknown), and you don't have a first rounder next draft. Imagine if Washington plays themselves into a top 5 pick. Its amazing.

I would argue that he is easily healthy enough to play, he just doesn't have his full running ability so it's hurting the team. Otherwise his growing pains are normal for a young QB, especially one that didn't get to practice during the offseason or go to camp.

As archi said, the Redskins offensive line has been fine, they just go dominated last night by two really good pass rushers.

The main issue is the defense is much worse than last year, meaning the Skins have to throw more and making their play action less effective, which they relied upon heavily last year.

This article expands on that argument: http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-tr...-to-washington

    Lol

I'm starting Alex Smith vs. Denver over RG3 vs. NYG this coming week - that's how far RG3 has fallen.

Blasting Andrew Luck's pedestrian numbers on Grantland comments will never get old.

New schtick - he's the new Matthew Stafford - take away his #1 receiver (Wayne) and he's toast.

I do agree, but how much did this put the coaches in the corner though?

If we're just tossing blame around for Bobert sucking should throw AD on there for making people think rehab for a blown knee only takes a few months.

New playoff odds up. NFC WCs will come down to the Saints/Panthers and the 49ers/Cards. BEARS have the inside track on the NFC North, DVOA has the Lions as a below-average team.

Pittsburgh has the best shot at the final AFC WC.
