i'm not sure i'd want a special title cos i'm 99% positive it would end up being a poop joke and i'm not sure i'd want that shit following me around all the time.
got enough shit following you around already, huh?
indeed. its fucking bullshit.
can we request new titles in this thread? I want mine changed then. Make it
I would prefer not to.
fucking bartleby
mert my new favorite literary quote is “Talk not to me of blasphemy, man; I'd strike the sun if it insulted me.”
I'm pretty sure Ryko was the first person I saw to post thug notes on bookface so you can tell him thanks for that for me
ELIZABETHAN HATERADE
Ban krye
Not to make light of this situation but did anyone happen to click on the link for Woozie's funeral home website?
jesus, do people really do this shit?In paying respects it may be customary to view the body and to offer support through your presence and words of encouragement. Offer personal comments about the deceased or how he or she will be remembered such as:
“I will remember our college days”
“John enjoyed life”
“He certainly had a lot of friends”
These remarks tend to add further emotional stress and are inappropriate:
“You can have other children”
“He is better off now”
“Only the good die young”
yes. ive had conversations with people who think thats a perfectly acceptable sentiment; i did my best to disabuse them of that notion.
"I bet he would have been a Belieber"
"They are better off now" is one you hear a lot that particularly grinds my gears.
wow who fucking says that
I wanna say I cant believe people would say some of this shit, but people are fucking inconsiderate and stupid so Im not fully surprised.
the worst part is that those people honestly dont see anything wrong with what they said, even if you break it down and explain it to them. it just baffles them completely. they are utterly incapable of seeing how someone could interpret it as a negative thing to say, because they are utterly incapable of seeing how anyone else views the world entirely.
worst kind of person, because they're not always stupid in the usual sense.
Shit's situational. At the end, my grandmother could not see, talk or move and every breath she was forced to take hurt her, all this while she was fully conscious and aware of everything that was going on around her. When she passed away, she-has-it-better-now kind of comments were the most common among the family.
Not saying it applies in this case, but sometimes, what you wish for the most is for the person you love to not have to suffer anymore.
Yeah I'm fully aware of those situations, but I would still rather hear "At least there is no more suffering", than "they are in a better place" or "they are better off now" because that implies there is "another place" and that somehow no longer existing is better than living. Yes there are cases where someone probably is better off, but it's not something I personally want to hear in the days after a death.
If it helps them to get over the death of a person they loved, it does not harm me. I prefer not talking to people in the first place.
RIP has the same sort of implication, doesn't it?
