So it seems people have already platinum'ed it and it can be done in one playthrough. Less strict than original P3 and carried by changes in how you gain social stats primarily.

Not gonna spoiler because these seem to just be general tips on how to approach things for efficiency. Still looking for any information on if any social links function similar to Fortune/Temperance from P5.

Studying may now be a waste of time. Seems the Arcade and the 2nd computer in the dorm is the best way to bump stats. Arcade changes daily and the computer functions similar to books or DVD's from P5 with a strong boost but only gives it once. The kitchen option in the dorm also seems to give you study points (hence less need for studying).

Working at the cafe early seems to be best, giving you 1 charm and 1 courage. Study lvl 3 for your first set of exams is still the tough benchmark to reach.

Elizabeth requests start after the first boss.

Compendium seems to be much cheaper than Persona 3. Some recipes would have clearly changed as we already know some persona were removed with others added.

I'm still super early in, maybe 1.5 hours in, just did the first battle on the roof, but man even before I have access to anything, this game is SLEEK. It's like they took Persona 5 and refined it even more.

I remember most of the characters in design only, absolutely zero about the plot. When did P3P come out? 2010? That was the last time I played it and there's been enough time where it's entirely new game. Looking forward to slow burning this over the course of the month before FF7R comes out. Enjoy!

I think I'm in the middle of June, I've got the second navigator now. The Persona 5 comparisons were really spot on, it almost feels like a reskinned P5 at times and that's a good thing.

The only annoying thing I've run in to, now that I have the second navigator, is now the dialogue in battles are all talking over each other MULTIPLE times. Like, I'll hit a weakness and BOTH navigators will say the enemy is down or something, plus the character who put them down saying something, then a prompt for All Out Attack all jumbled on top of each other. I doubt this was their intention so might be a bug? idk, I'm having fun.

Okay, so I got to this point last night and wanted to wait to comment and see if I had the same issue. I don't. not yet at least. I just got the new ability for all party members, so maybe I'm not at the same part as you, but I haven't had any talking over one another. Maybe save, close the game, reboot the console might work.

Other than that, it's funny. Game is slick as hell, Persona has never looked better. There's a lot of small details that I appreciate with animations and such.

I only played Persona 5 on the PS4 and the PS4 version of Royal on PS5. As amazing as the game looks and feel, this is one up from that. There's almost zero pause anywhere and everything is just more detailed. Characters look so good. Soundtrack is a banger as well.

Said this before, but I honestly remember nothing about this game from the PSP version. A couple of characters. And I think I hated that kid that joins your party, Ken? Don't remember. But the only "negative" I can say right now is the game feels a bit emptier than P4 or P5, with things to do and the amount of places to go. But if I recall correctly, this is the first Persona that did the calendar system. I know I'm still pretty early on and a bunch more might open, but everything in P5R felt like you were always gaining character progression, between, darts, pool, batting practice, etc. your team was always improving. Also with the confidants you had a reason to keep improving relationships with added perks. Also only having 3 social stats seems like you can max out pretty early? I'm at 3 with everything already in mid June.

I'm not really complaining because I know every Persona is a bit different in how things are handled so it doesn't get stale. I appreciate you gain new social links by growing the ones you already have. I know there's a ton more to come, being early June and really looking forward to see where the story goes. Aside from the above nitpick, absolutely having a great time with this until FF7R launches. I'll get to LaD2 later this year when it's on some sort of bundle sale with the dlc and go through both games (never beat part 1)

Yep, this was the first game with the calendar system. And yeah, the selection of activities might not be as diverse, even though they added new stuff into this.

Social stats definitely feel easy to max out, I'm at the end of July with maxed courage and charm at 5, academics is at 4 but that one requires double the points afair.

I have to say, the more I come to spend time with the characters, and I know I'm still pretty early on with 17ish hours, but the more and more I like the English cast. It's really solid translation and VO work. Not that they've ever lacked in this department, but with the extra polish and adding full VO during social links (FINALLY) I find myself laughing or groaning (in a good way) at so much dialogue

Like Elizabeth and her just now knowing anything about the outside world, the meekness/shyness of some of the girls really comes through and how much some people are just boasting to be braggarts but you can tell it's a front for something else. It's a really nice touch.

Akihiko's new VA is the only one so far that just doesn't mesh for me compared to the original cast. It's not bad, but its missing the gruff or grit that OG Akihiko had. This may be made more apparent to me since Akihiko's original VA is basically using the Akihiko voice for Officer Kurosawa.

Highly recommend cooking with Yukari x3 and watching DVDs with her x3 as it turns her into a broken healer. SP cost on healing spells are reduced to 50% when completing the first set and to 25% on the second set. Costs are reduced both inside and outside of battle. Kinda nuts.

Also... is the guy who voices Kurosawa the same guy who voices Iwai from P5? It sounds very similar though I haven't played in a while. Kinda funny if it is, both being weapon dealers.

I have definitely heard some of the P5 cast voicing background characters in P3 Reload. Definitely Ann, Makoto, Morgana, Haru, and Kawakami. There was one awkward scene where the MC was talking to two girls and the VA for Makoto was voicing both of them lol

Honestly the dialogue in these games is fucking hilariously well written when it's trying to be funny. Between the events with Elizabeth and then all of the scenes at the beach with the girls I was laughing out loud in my apartment at 9:30 at night. The VA's just deliver it so well lol

Geez, P3 probably has one of my least favorite casts out of the 5 (I don't -dislike- them, I'm just more ambivalent about them compared to the earlier and later entries) but you're making me tempted to pick this up.
