I forgot how much of a zany cast this is. I'm at about the 32 hour mark and floor 115 of Tartarus which isn't even the halfway point. So glad I have this to play and it's a long game. It'll easily take me to the end of the month when FF7R2 comes out

Also it's funny how there's like zero attempt to make him sound like a dog, it just sounds like a human man doing dog sounds which makes it even funnier.

Social stats apparently max at 6. I thought it was 5.

In mid September now and I think I maybe fucked up with time management. Got all my social skills capped because I wanted to get Fuuka/Yukari/Mitsoru social links ASAP. And now I’ve got all these dorm activities that I have to do with each teammate to get them new skills and I keep getting wasted social skill points. I think of all those nights I spent at the Arcade or stuffing my face with ramen when I could have been doing the Tower or Devil social link instead

Im kind of in the same boat in July. Somehow find myself 3 social link levels behind pace after following a 100% guide, but my social stats are above pace.

Same. But I usually do a NG+ every Persona game so I can kind of just do things at my own pace. But with this game there’s not as much to do, so I’m not sure how that’ll work out.

As far as the predictability of the games go, yeah I don't think Atlus will win any awards for blowing your mind with plot revelations. But they really know how to give you blows to the midsection with the characters, and look great/being stylish while doing it.

I'm right near the end of the game for the "true ending" (10 days left).

I don't know why I was expecting to face a copy of myself, but Elizabeth? Man. She does NOT play around. she also has some secret ruleset also which I've spent a few times trying to figure out. I think I need to grind a bunch more to get some of the optional weapons/armor to fight her. My MC is level 95 (I killed the reaper and doubled XP and my level went from 76 > 93 lol) but I'm still lacking some of the top tier personas and such

Mid January now and it’s mathematically impossible for me to max out all the social links on this playthrough, lame

I blame myself and I realize where I fucked up. First off as I mentioned earlier I spent too much time early trying to pump up social stats instead of doing social link visits, unaware there would be passive opportunities for social stat boosts late in the game I would need to do anyway, so ultimately I wasted a lot of days :/

Secondly I played this with the P5 mindset. Maxing out social links early in P5 gives you tangible benefits whereas P3 does not, the only benefit for max social link in P3 is being able to fuse the ultimate persona for that arcana which you wouldn’t be able to do anyway until you reach endgame. So maxing out early here is actually detrimental and not a good use of time.

Thirdly, the companions I am going to miss on finishing are all classmates and losing almost two whole months for them between summer/winter breaks and random holidays or story events put me at a disadvantage. Combine that with me focusing more on stats early on and it’s no wonder towards the end my classmates are the ones being left out. I spent a lot of time with the old couple and fat kid not realizing they’d be available pretty much the entire game when I could have been hanging with my sewing and art bros instead :/

Some of the social links are complete shit too, the fat kid might be the worst in any Persona game. Tanaka had me laughing with how much of an unapologetic scumbag he was lol

I loathed the fat kid. I missed out on the rival for the longest time because his fucking outfit is almost identical to the track star teammate and for some reason I thought he was just showing up in two places.

My favorites by far so far were the dying man at the shrine, the little girl, and Mitsuru.

So I saw someone on Reddit theorizing that Jose from P5 Royal is the son of the P3 MC and Elizabeth and I’m like oh ha ha…oh shit the timeline does match…

Theres another one out there that the Fortune arcana in P3 (Keisuke I thnk) becomes Dr. Maruki in P5 Royal.

Son of a hospital director, angst of his social link dealing with becoming a doctor or an artist.
Councilor confidant in P5 is an equivalent of The Magician tarot.
Apparently combining the Magician and Fortune tarot grants the target to ability to affect change, which was Maruki's whole arc.

Finished the game last night. I already knew the ending was depressing as hell, but seeing it in a full animated cutscene makes it hit so much harder.

Only trophies I missed was fusing Messiah and maxing all social links. Also didn't do the Elizabeth fight.

Elizabeth fight is a mother fucker, she cheats like hell. I think I’m gonna wait for NG+ if I ever fight her because I just wanna finish the game at this point.

If you repel or absorb any of her attacks she instant kills you. Once she gets under half HP she full heals and instant kills you, but if you have Enduring Soul you’ll get back up. You gotta then get her as close to half health as you can without going over (or she instant kills you again) and one shot her with a Theurgy move. If you don’t take her out with Theurgy she instant kills you. If you have armor or accessory with Endure and a Persona with Endure you can try twice in theory but you probably wouldn’t be able to get Theurgy back up before she insta-kills you again.
