Blame coinbase for adding Bitcoin Cash. There is going to be a lot of dip action going on for all cryptos in the next 24-48 hours, but it should settle down.

Transaction speed is not an intractable problem for cryptocurrency, but it seems to be for bitcoin for mostly historical reasons.


I look forward to when people try to short cryptocurrencies using a transaction frequency attack (basically a DDOS for blockchain.) I am unaware of any cryptocurrency that is immune.

Ledger Nano S goes for about $60 and is recoverable if you lose it. You can store some popular alt coins on it too.

I set alerts on my phone with the coinbase app to let me know when BTC/LTC/ETH dip to their local minima (which happen infrequently) to let me know it's time to buy a bit more but that's about it.

What do people know about Bitcoin Cash? Should it be considered reliable or is this just a quick swing and it'll tilt back towards BTC soon?

From my understanding Bitcoin Cash is updated blockchain and increased liquidity compared to BTC. YMMV

Funny thing is that some employees may have profited from knowledge of the surprise listing of Bitcoin Cash as the price actually rose sharply hours before the listing on Coinbase, so they are actually looking into this right now. Trading is supposed to resume at around 9am this morning.

Bitcoin is crashing pretty hard, but I don't know if it's gambler fallacy or not but I don't want to run for the hills...I think it will bounce back in weeks / months to come.

What is the take from the more seasoned crypto investors here? I know we just said that have to take the long view, but I can't gain much insight from the past year worth of data because there aren't really analogues to this event that I can see.
