Batch 2 is the same exact model as Batch 1, but it doesn't come with the exclusive 6-week mining period and there's less time before they're semi-obsolete when version 2 of the Obelisk is released in Jan of 2019.
Nothing is stopping you apart from the limits they impose on mass orders. I forget what the limit is, but they prevent you from buying more than a certain # so you can't control too much of the total hashing power (and thereby, potentially attack the chain).
Sometimes middlemen add value, such as in that case... other times they don't, such as in currency conversions & balance transfers between banks (aka, Ripple/Stellar).
Other times, tasks of these middle men can be programmed once, automated and removed completely for substantial savings and minimal if any additional risk, such as buying/selling a house without paying an attorney's rates to due the same paperwork a program could do (aka, Ethereum or other smart contract coins).
Or, in yet other cases, simple verification tasks that bog down small and big companies alike in layers and nests of bureaucracy, cyber-security, encryption, personnel, processing delays, and other resources can be instead tied to a free, open, easy-to-access node that can verify these tasks often faster, often more securely, and in the most hacker/tamper-resistant environment in existence over the open internet (Ethereum "tokens").
And these are some of the most basic examples.
There are literally thousands of coins out there right now all trying to specialize in some aspect of blockchain technology, because it has that much potential (and of course, the huge influx of money). I don't doubt for a second that the overwhelming majority will fail, but the ones that get it right are going to be here for a long time (and valuable).
Uh guys?
I finally read the stellar website and apparently they have only distributed 8% of the coins so far and they just plan on giving them away to normies? Also 1 lumen=100000 transactions so wtf is this shit actually and where do i deploy lambo
Probably gonna give them away as a lambo preorder bonus. Darkest timeline baby!

Shit did not expect 4900 overnight, sell order was for 4600. Still a profit and At least got back into XRP during a dip last night.
It was like 5100 when I woke up lol
I made a quick 36% return, did not expect it to be this high when I woke lol.

God damn I’m so jelly
Even tho really I missed out on only like 20 bucks lol
I’m also battling the wife. Trying to convince her to let me go in with another 4 racks. This 400 a week sucks but I’m also Worried about that transfer time. Would hate to miss XRP hitting coinbase before the transfer hits
I'm still just at $4500 of my $5000 investment.

Predictions on XLM correction today? I need to get back in
Mentioned to Sath last week and thought I'd share publicly, as since that conversation it's increased by 44%.
Golem (GNT) is an ERC-20 token (aka, Ethereum-based) that I believe has a lot of potential. They're looking to create a worldwide decentralized network of computers, which any individual/group/company can contract for processing power. Likewise, any individual/group could configure their idle processing power to automatically sell on the network. It's like folding@home, but for any CPU/GPU tasks & with profits for contributing.
It started off very pie-in-the-sky-esque with nothing but the idea, a basic proof of concept, and very slow progress beyond that... but they're finally starting to deliver. A working alpha was released in the Fall, which shot the price up by 400%.
I've been following them for the better part of 8 months, and if they pull this off it'll easily be another big-ticket coin.

At the very least, keep an eye out for the Brass Golem 1.0 release date for Q1/Q2 2018, as that'll be the first working version where people can earn real currency by selling their idle processing power (though only for certain tasks). If it's a success, the coin will no-doubt shoot up in value.
Worth noting that this used to be a top-10 coin, but it fell off the radar (due to the slow progress and no working product, as said above). If they jumped back into the top-10 right now, it'd represent an increase of over 1000% from their current price & market value.
Tough to say whether they can pull that off of the immediate future, as the the 'final version' is still 3-4 years out, but if they succeed in rolling out Brass Golem and keep making progress it's definitely possible. I can easily imagine this becoming a valuable alternative vs. the massive costs it takes to build, run, power, cool, secure, update and maintain your own super computer/data centers. Like, the amount of money my company spends on our super computer is ridiculous, and it hasn't stopped running since day-1 and already has an insurmountable backlog... and it's basically like this across the research industry.
Idk man, I see it going up but then again if bitcoin dips hard again there goes the value. Can't wait till it's xrp/usd.

Honestly my wife's problem isn't the money at risk, it's that this gives me another reason to be on my phone constantly lol. That's why I want investments I don't have to day-trade.
But I also want money so...
