good time to hop on the xlm train?

I think its actually false cause one of the guys in a discord I am in saying its only one specific exchange (Coinone) because of Margin Trading. The government is supposedly working with the other exchanges to get regulation going. Probably unfounded panic selling.
Can someone explain to me in laymen terms what this means?
Spoiler: show
Should I wait to buy in after?
Basically the whole market is down, so it's a good time to buy pretty much anything.
At my current rate, it'll take me 9+ months to cash out from Nanopool when mining Siacoin...any other pools BG suggests?
How much would you be cashing out then?
Core Sia Dev entering talks with Binance this week; it'll be huge if they can get listed there. No promises though, as they were forced to sign an NDA and the dev has already stated they won't cooperate with anything "shady" if it's imposed onto them.
Good summary of the upcoming Sia hardfork, coming in ~10 days.
https://www.reddit.com/r/siacoin/com..._block_139000/
Worth noting that this will increase the daily produce supply of Sia by a factor of 3, which is back to the normal rate (before the bug introduced on 12/06). Thereby, the mining rewards increase by 3x; bringing it close to a full $1.50 per day to dual mine it at current prices, per GTX 1070. That's in addition to the ~$5.8/day you'd make from ETH.
As said above, once that hard fork happens you'll mine 3x as much Sia, so that might be easier for you to reach the payout limits.
I personally prefer this pool as well:

On another note... if I already started mining using my Binance wallet, how do I switch to another wallet without losing the progress I've made thus far? Should I just keep mining until my first pay out then switch over to the new wallet?
Are you using mining pool hub? You can change the wallet anytime
So, say a certain cryptocurrency noob has a couple hundred bucks laying around, and wants to invest it in cryptocurrency now with the intention of starting to mine a little later. How would said noob best approach doing this? Love ya BG.
Setup an account on coinbase and binance to start. KuCoin and possibly Poloniex as you get more savvy. Purchase etherium on coinbase. If you are ok with it I would recommend paying with a credit/debit card on coinbase and not your checking account. This makes the coins available instantly, otherwise you have to wait a week and we are in a dip now. It's only a few dollars to do the instant method.
After you have etherium, go to gdax (it's owned by coinbase so your login is the same) and transfer your eth to that. There's guides online for how to do this. From there, send your eth to binance or whatever other exchange you want. The reason you use gdax and not coinbase to send them over is gdax will cover all the fees and coinbase does not. The first time you go this route it's confusing, but now I can do it in maybe 30 seconds. If you want low risk and steady but slow gains then keep some in etherium as it's been holding price with slow gains better than pretty much anything.
I think most people here would recommend Stellar (XLM on binance, the name changes sometimes on other exchanges) as one of the better altcoins to invest in. Try to diversify and not invest everything in one coin. Lots of people here can recommend other coins, I just chose Stellar because I think most people here would agree with that recommendation.
Also DO NOT PANIC SELL. The prices on this stuff swings constantly and nerve wracking. The only reasons you should ever really sell are if you are cashing out or if you have actually lost all faith in a coin (see Tron, TRX, for details).

It auto adjusts what coin to mine and you can set it to convert to whatever coin to withdraw to your wallet.
