Alisha-related DLC scenario announced. It appears that Alisha and Rose are playable during this and it might just be a post-game scenario. Japanese fans not pleased.
This looks to be the most polished entry yet.. Genuinely excited for this, I hope Namco Bandai actually brings it.
Why is Rose so awesome? FUG.
Its the kind of thing a fan should know about prior to making the purchase lest they become angry like the JPs have.
Note the reviews.

Pulling a character DLC swap like that is pretty low just for a quick buck. If they're going to do that, bring over the fricking Code Geass DLC that NA has always missed and always wanted.
Game looks great, and looks a lot like Vesperia aesthetics. But Namco, you dun goofed on the DLC.
I may actually skip this game
Nothing about it makes me not want to buy it other than the camera issues (which don't actually seem to pop up all that often).
If I find out they are making things transparent/translucent instead of letting the camera get caught up on things, easy day 1 buy for me.

Some tumblr whale yelling while spilling spoilers
I knew that was going to come up here at some point.
Its inane ramblings from someone who hasn't even played the game.
Much of the stuff on that list isn't even true or is exaggerated to hell.
(Also, you should include a spoiler warning for people in the thread since that drops a couple of bombs)
Not really Zestiria related, but I've been wanting to give Tales games another shot. I played Vesperia, but could not totally into it. I think a lot of it had to do with the battle system's focus on guarding (or at least it felt like it). I had picked it up hoping for something like Star Ocean: Last Hope's battle system. If there was a Tales game (or games) that would definitely get someone into the series, what would it be?
I dunno, Vesperia is probably in my top 5 games of all time, and it's always the one I recommend first. Honestly, it's been a while since I played Star Ocean 4. I guess Graces F plays a bit more like TLH than the others do but it's a bit of a departure from the franchise's combat system to begin with, so I don't know if I would call it a fair representation. But you have to guard a lot in Graces F to rebuild CC anyway...
Honestly, it takes you a good while to unlock the entirety of Vesperia's battle system, and the more of it you unlock, the less defending you really need to do. Things really start to open up when you start getting the skills that let you chain artes together. I would highly, highly recommend trying it again, but if you really just hate it, Xillia/Xillia-2 might be a bit more up your alley.
You would recommend Symphonia and Graces f to someone who doesn't seem to want a battle system with a focus on guarding? Well, I dunno about that. Especially not Graces f where its even important to your offense due to giving iron stance and a penetrate bonus.
If you want to play Tales and you don't want to guard (which you should do anyway) I'd suggest Eternia on PS1. And move up from there.
The game with the least guarding is almost definitely Xillia, because Jude's backstep is so hilariously effective against just about every enemy in the game, and it's basically the Blindside mechanic from SO4.
Guarding is just a part of the combat in Tales games, and I wouldn't let it put you off of them, especially in the early-game where your tactical options are typically more limited. As the combat systems open up there are a lot more opportunities to take the offensive, especially in Vesperia where Yuri can Overlimit indefinitely. The older games are typically slower-paced than the newer ones but I don't really love the 2D ones so I'm useless where they're concerned.
