Organ donorship should be mandatory unless you have some disease that makes yours unusable; it's not like you're going to do anything with them and they can do great things.

Religion and human stupidity is why it's not mandatory. Hell, you can be a donor, die, and your loved ones can say no despite your own wishes

I have a problem with it being mandatory, but I don't see any issues with it being encouraged (when applicable, obviously). I do believe it should be up to the individual though, not a proxy. Choices of this magnitude made for others can lead to devastating perverse incentives.

Hold on, you could have leveled a bit and you chose new LUNGS?!! Where are your priorities?!?! Lungs aren't rare, just about everyone has them. But fully leveled sub-jobs, and you could have been leeching to level on top of it? 0.o

Seriously though, glad you got some new fleshy oxygen bags. I kind of like breathing too, it's like an addiction you can't quit.

How does this work? What legally gives them the right to overturn your decision?

Organ donorship should always be a choice and I've made sure to put myself in the registry. When I'm dead, it's the least I can do for someone else.

Totally going to unnerve people and make a thread about my operation on Valentine's day, because my surgery was the morning of the 15th, and that would be right around sexy time here. >

DID YOU HAVE A THEME SONG FOR YOUR OPERATION DREAMBOAT? Milkster totally gave me mine (Avicii - Silhouettes)!

Eye of the tiger. It's the song I asked my surgeon to sing me.

Same here. I remember when I was little, I was turned-off at the thought that there were people who donated all their organs/eyes when they died. Nowadays, I find it unsettling when people want to be buried whole no matter what.

For future reference, you can sign-up as an organ donor online in like 1min and then print out your donor card instantly.
