X-Men: Apocalypse (May 27th, 2016)

1) WTF at Apoc's voice. They better enhance that before release. It doesn't sound menacing at all, rather like everyone's in for a boring lecture. His voice should make you feel like he's this all powerful guy.

This is one if the things that's killing this for me. I would've actually liked to see less of Apocalypse, but heard more of his (menacing) voice. To give you that feeling of, "I really want to know who that is, but I know that once I do shit's going to go down."

My favorite line from Apocalypse was always, "I'm as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you." But with what is shown there I feel like that line would have no impact. Nice to see that Apocalypse changes size though, although it's probably just in someone's head.

I think that the voice issue is pretty much from us who grew up watching the 90's cartoon and hearing the 2 people who did the voice acting for Apocalypse then.

Ultron wasn't the least bit intimidating, so no thanks. One can blame the writing for that though.

A digitized Hugo Weaving, Benedict Cumberbatch, James Earl Jones, Laurence Fishburne, or Idris Elba would've all been better.

Loved DoFP, but I hope this isn't Singer's Dark Knight Rises. Still day 1 for moi.

Who was the guy in the room with Prof X and Moira? I'm completely drawing a blank on him, but I think I've IDed everyone else in the trailer, not that that's hard.

I'm kinda disappointed that his Horsemen seem to basically be "Here's 3 characters you've seen before and one new one that people with even the most cursory knowledge of the X-men universe know about." Would've been a nice time to dig deeper into the universe and bring out some C and D-list characters. DoFP brought out fucking Blink of all things and made her look good.

Remember when the big bad would be all smoke and mirrors, or you'd only see snippets? Good times.



The BvS trailer was better. This just seemed like a knock off transformers trailer with some attractive X-Men instead of regular humans. I was surprised by them including the size changing, maybe they will make his not suck fighting/abilities wise.


James Spader is the boss. However they should have channeled his inner Apocalypse and really made him a hard liner in AoU.

Hibernating in his suspended animation chamber. Which is where he was both in regular and Age of Apocalypse storylines. I'd speculate that they are going to use post Decimation comic storylines, but this is Fox; they are gonna shit on whatever they want. They might be making Havok as Cable, and cutting Sinister.
