Was Mystique so directly tied to the X-Men comics? I'm legit asking because this shit is so fucking annoying, she's a terrible character in the movies. We get it "HURR DURR DEY PICKED ON ME CUZ I WUZ DIFFERENT!" You're point has been made six movies and 15+ years ago.

I can understand the spamming of Wolverine. Hugh Jackman takes the role seriously and the character itself has some depth to be explored despite shitty writing.

Mystique rarely figured this largely in the X-titles. She was on the team a couple times but it's been pretty well established that she's a natural backstabber and spends more time at odds with the X-Men than allied with them (let alone somehow leading them).

In fact, Marvel is fucking over their X-titles in a major way, more or less putting mutants on the backburner, mostly to spite Fox.

Fox seems that if they have a female lead in the movies, it has to be a really bitchy and whiny bitch. Look at what they did to Rogue in X-men 1-3. Growing up, I really liked the Rogue Character. After the movies I kept hoping they'd kill her in a great way.

Now, its the same for Mystique.

Like shit, the events of DoFP should have taught Mystique the lesson of quit being a bitch yet shes still crying.
