What if I told you this isn't the first X-men movie to feature Psylocke?

Well since everyone has tried their damnedest to forget Last Stand ever existed, this might as well be the first time she's appeared on screen.

Saw it. Was OK, but def not as good as DoFP.

    Spoiler: show
They really neutered Apocalypse. Waste of a good actor and villain. His voice changes constantly and sounds as awful as it does in the recent trailers. He only grows in his "psychic battle" with the Professor. A bigger Apoc with a deep, intimidating voice would've made him seem so much more threatening. Even the way he's awakened felt really half-assed. There's even a part where a merchant, who was chasing Storm, pulls a knife on a hooded Apocalypse in Egypt. I'm sorry, but even with a hood on, I'd shit my pants at a giant 8 ft Apocalypse (from comic or cartoon) coming at me. The last thing I'd think to do is pull a knife on him...

Mystique, surprisingly, isn't as annoying in this as she was in DoFP. There's so many mutants in this that she doesn't hog up a lot of screen time.

Cyclops got a lot of screen time, which made me happy. As did Jean. Sophie Turner wasn't terrible outside GoT like Emilia Clarke was. Kodi Smit-McPhee's Nightcrawler was good as well. I also enjoyed Alexandra Shipp's Storm, who for plot reasons was conveniently in Egypt already. Olivia Munn's Psylocke was OK. Mostly there to swing her sword around and didn't have many lines. Just glad to finally see the character on screen, and not a background character this time. Jubilee was just there. I have a feeling she'll be featured more in deleted scenes from the young X-Men out and about. (Record store and mall trip which was cut.)

Of course, Quicksilver's scene was awesome. Just a little corny in some parts, which shows Singer knows everyone expects this to be a fun scene. I guess it just didn't feel as natural this time? Overall still enjoyable with great music.

They do a nice job of tying in First Class with little flashback scenes here and there. It also gets a little violent, but not shockingly violent in parts like DoFP was.

Definitely not as emotionally charged as DoFP. Hard to top the great performances that Stewart, McKellen, and Jackman brought to the table. Even McAvoy and Fassbender weren't as great in this film.

Fucking Weapon X slaughtering Stryker's soldiers was great. Also, Mr Sinister tie-in that was arleady mentioned. I'm looking forward to seeing him on screen. As long as they do him more justice than they did Apocalypse...

Overall, better than First Class, weaker than DoFP. I'd like to see the younger cast in more movies. Hopefully with a fucking white-long-haired Magneto.

Pretty much hated every moment of it.

    Spoiler: show

Story and costumes were definitely the biggest offenders for me.

Plot jumps everywhere with some very weak and convenient occurrences. I don't get why the entire movie spans just a few days, instead of building up over the course of a few months.
Apocalypse using a TV like a super AI would use the internet was just stupid (besides, did he acquire that mutant power in ancient Egypt?), and literally NO ONE besides the X-Men showing up once he builds a fucking castle in the middle of Cairo felt so cheap.

The Quicksilver scene is a lame copy of the previous one, that turns totally bullshit because of how much they overdid it. He keeps tossing humans around like he has hulk strength, and time flows based on his needs (windows smash at his speed, but the environment stays slow). Again, he could have saved 2-3 students, not like 20 of them.

Final battles felt flat, nowhere near the heights of Civil War airport scene. Psylocke using a "psychic lazo" was very odd, as were Storm and Cyke doing their kamehame moment.

Then again, costumes are really bad. Cringeworthy bad.
Apocalypse actor can barely move and he's basically wearing cheap plastic which turns him into a Power Ranger tier villain. His makeup also makes him look tired all the time.

Force = mass * acceleration. Yes everything else is stupid but superspeed does give you superstrength.

But if you apply it in reverse this also must mean he must be pretty strong at least in his legs to accelerate like that. Especially when you consider that he's a small dude and running into those things should decrease his momentum as much as he increased theirs

Even if he's moving super fast, nothing else should be, so wouldn't it be like punching an immovable object because it cannot react to you hitting it as fast as your body can react?

Wat. He's still gonna hit it with a huge amount of force because of the speed combined with the mass.

Right, but since everything is moving in slow motion there's not going to be any feedback or motion from whatever he's punching. There's a follow-through in normal time when you hit something; recoil or someone being affected by it. You wouldn't get that in superspeed unless the guy you hit also suddenly is affected by superspeed. It would be like hitting a brick wall.
