I'm curious if they will be using this reboot of Jean and Scott to go forward with some Cable and Sinister. Probably too complicated for Fox though and will just be Apocalypse villain of the week making Archangel. Hopefully not as a Deadpool abomination.

Well both really if they stay with the four horsemen arc. Arc angel had real wins but was twisted and corrupted by apocalypse who turned then into steel wings of death.

iirc, he wished to not have his wings and Apocalypse granted him fully retractable? idk it's been decades

IIRC, Warren was remade into Death after losing his wings and was given new wings by Apocalypse. They were retractable because Warren always hated how cumbersome his wings were and he wanted to "blend in". I think this took place during X-Factor in the Morlock Massacre storyline.

I don't know if they retconned it, but that's how I remember it happening and Wiki doesn't seem to disagree.

Yeah he got his wings ripped out and destroyed by the Marauders during the Mutant Massacre and was left for dead pinned to a wall by Harpoon, until Thor finds him.

And then he attempted to commit suicide because he could no longer fly on his own, which really irked me about his character in the 90's cartoon and the movie. Not wanting to be a mutant anymore. Then he started freaking out about how his metal wings weren't always under his control. Had some great scenes though, like when he beheaded Kamikaze by accident while turning around during the X-tinction Agenda arc.
