Momma.... I finally made it!
Needs gif of da coach screaming "GO BEARS!"
Hilarious how that Pat .gif you are arguing no PI, when there is clearly a hold on the left shoulder pad to slow Boyce down when the ball was in the air. youmad.jpg
I wish you were the ref during the game vs the Jets
The defender never turned around and was being all grabby. Obvious call for Pass interference.
PS: Im a Pats fan too. Mostly Brady.
It's New England so even if the call is remotely questionable, they will bitch.
Not to butt in and tell you guys you're wrong, but you its true. He grabs and holds the WR by the shoulder pad. Whether it's ticky-tacky or not in a close game, it's a penalty. I'd defer to how they called things earlier in the game and whether they let them play physical previously, but still its a penalty.
Adajer is the hero these forums need.
And those of you saying that shit is PI probably need to learn what grabbing is. His hand was barely touching the shoulder, and absolutely none of what he did interfered with the catch.
Well, touching beyond 5 yards is illegal. Not turning around is PI everytime. (note the punctuation)
Sheeeeeeit!
Holding within 5 yards is illegal, just touching someone is definitely not.
If you go by the absolute strictest definition of the rules related to PI, which only apply when said penalties would help the Patriots, then you could construe a light brushing off the shoulder as a penalty.
That said, what was going there had exactly zero effect on the receivers ability to catch the ball. His movement was never impeded and his hands/arms reaching to the slightly overthrown ball were not interfered with.
I have nothing against the Patriots, if I was the kind of person to really cheer for two teams they'd get my second vote. But in the Tom Brady era the number of questionable calls that have gone their way over the years isn't something that can be ignored.
If you dont turn your head around as a defender, its PI.
Straight from the rulebook, under the category of plays that do not constitute pass interference.
Whether or not he was looking at the ball had no part of it, and facing towards the ball is not some gigantic overarching rule that a lot of people think it is.(d) Laying a hand on a receiver that does not restrict the receiver in an attempt to make a play on the ball
