Hmm don't know what triggered it. I'm at 345 quests completed and Nantoto mentioned they were going to Lufaise to check on a dragon roaming the skies. No new quests popped up. I went to the Lagoon and nothing. Going to roam.

Did some fishing RoE b/c I was bored and I wanted something I could put down in a hurry in the game. Turns out you start with a quest in which you need to talk to the fishing guild chief, which nets you a cheap rod (toss it). Second quest you have to reel in a fish, which nets you 99 worms (Save them for moat bait). The third one I did involved reeling up 30 small fish. first time netted me some XP, a few sparks, and about 2k fishing guild points...
Which is funny since my contract's still with the cooking guild, lol. The reward of the fishing guild points is not repeatable, but the quest is, so if you're fishing..I suggest you get up to those and have them on when you're fishing for a slight boost. (Once you get though the initial quests, they have quests for small and large fish.) Especially if you haven't finished your guild points. ^^
I was getting that but now it's talking about going to the highlands to look for the flying flower. Also if you talk to the guy near eternal flame after ~200 he will direct you to Nantoto and she will give you a repeatable RoE quest called golden rule that is simply raising someone that nets you 10 sparks and 200 xp.
If you have more than 208 but less than 264 (most likely 250) she will also give you a non repeatable one called Impermanence. It says the reward is 500 sparks and 2.5k xp.... but no idea how to complete it. The log says "Gather up a vessel that has lost its light and a stolen intellect, then offer these two hollow entities to a mage who resides within a hall where the goddess is both venerated and detested"
There's a 7th one called Panta Rhei: "Amass the purest, the most ephemeral, and the most corrupt of tears, then carry them to a certain precipice that looks out upon an ancient magical city.
Try checking Blueblade Fell? This video shows the dragon's path through Lufaise.
The stuff Nantoto talks about, such as the flower in Konschtat and the dragon in Lufaise, are just glitches/easter eggs, the former I find funny that they're too lazy to fix, so they make a joke about it. I'm sure she just gives new and old adventurers hints to little easter eggs and such in the game, and nothing more. As for the Impermanence quest:
There's nothing really targetable in Hall of the Gods, and I tried trading the Tonberry Priest in Uggalepih a combination of Faded Crystal, Doll Gizmo, Mana Barrel and Unlit Lantern, and nothing. Not sure if there's another "mage" NPC there, but any other clue may be this San d'Orian Elite they mention in the Grudge cutscene, and the person named "D" who hands you these letters.
Perhaps one of the yagudo npcs in castle oztroja? Wonder if there is a way to see which npcs had new text added to them recently...
Also kinda figured D might just be the guy next to eternal flame
Faded Crystal sounds like the right item but im not sure bout stolen intellect. The only thing i can think of is trading them to the gate you go thru in the hall of gods.
As far as tears go, wouldn't a siren's tear work? It's could either work for the most pure or the most ephemeral, seeing as how you can only get it from having "no intent of harm" aka not wearing any weapons. Most likely however, it would be pure, as ephemeral tear would go to the starfall tear, which can only be gained for a few hours each night from starfall hillock. For the most corrupt of tears, I would imagine the ahriman's tears might work, seeing as how they're tears from one of the corrupt demons of xarcabard.
As far as the location, it says a precipice overlooking an ancient magical city... that means it's a cliff that looks on a city, and said city is ancient. 20 years isn't ancient, and I don't think tavnazia qualifies as "magical" in a world of magic. The ancient cities I can think of are sea, and the olduum city in aht urghan, or perhaps the huge undersea ruins, which in certain areas you can see it from afar, like a giant city of spires in the ocean. So perhaps somewhere at mount zahyolm, or maybe in the subterranea. I can't think of any precipices in al'taieu, so that's probably out, unless it's possible to see it from qufim.
I tried that, and the Shimmering Circle. There's also no other targetable spot in the zone.
@dasva Wow, not sure how I didn't catch that, makes sense he would issue quests with Nantoto. Oh well, was hoping for someone else.
@Psion I take the "ancient magical city" as sky. Alzaadal Ruins aren't a city, so rule that out. I'm going to go with sky, maybe up on one of the god islands as those are the ONLY areas that are high up and overlook the area. There's NOTHING in sea that does that either.
JP wiki has an eighth quest about fighting Apademak solo. i think.
In Uleguerand - Abyssea
I beat specified number alone the Apademak.
Hmmm for city what about blueblade fell? It's high up and overlooks the city from the intro cutscene so can be assumed to be somewhat magical probably
JP wiki just lists they have no information on how to complete the quests, and JP dialogue for the quest makes as much sense as english.
Mentioning the "San d'Orian elite" is just pointing out that the first couple Nantoto quests are references to the WHM AF questline (fomors in Eldieme and Yagudo WHMs being targets for these quests).
I think Impermanence is Mana Barrel + Doll Gizmo to somebody in Uggalepih. The Mana Barrel (vessel that has lost its light) is used for a WHM shield and the Doll gizmo (stolen intellect) can only be obtained with Steal, and makes the NM you steal it from weaker. Tonberries hate Altana and worship Uggalepih, but the art in her temple appears to solely depict Altana, suggesting they're one and the same. Plus, this quest was in the green envelope, right? It just seems perfect for two items fitting the bill to come from a zone fitting the bill with a potential hint being a color that the characteristic beastmen of the zone are. If trading them to tonberries doesn't do anything then maybe the door for the Windurst mission or one of the NM pop ???s.
For Panta Rhei, I don't know what the corrupt tear could be if not an Ahriman tear, but I suspect that the precipice in a magic city is the fountain in Ro'maeve. Possibly during a full moon. Moonlight is often described as silvery, and the envelope was silver.
So I was thinking maybe when it says resides in it doesn't necessarily mean that's where you find the npc but merely where they are from or would normally live...? Partly think this because it seems rather odd for them to having emergency maitenance in Carpenters' Landing when nothing seems to have been added there in forever... and oddly enough there just so happens to be a tonberry npc there
A mage in a great hall doesn't mean a chef tonberry in the landing who makes black newts for a CoP mission, come now. I think we have the wrong items or something simple we're really overlooking. Still nothing on JP wiki.
@Priran I think it's sky, on one of the god islands, as they overlook the city and are sort of cliff/edge like. That's the highest point in sky, but as for the tears or if a ??? is up there besides god ???, I don't know.
Like I was saying it doesn't say that it is in the hall just that mage lives there. What if he actually his home is in ugg but just hangs out elsewhere? Just a thought. Also chefs can be mages!!!
The tear one seems to imply Siren's Tear, Freya's Tear, and Valkyrie's Tear most likely. Where to take it is a mystery to me. Overlooking an Ancient Magical city could mean a lot. A lot of the Zilart or Kuluu structures could be considered ancient magical cities. Though IDK if many qualify as cities. most are temples, energy focusing structures... something, I can't think of many of them that look like living quarters save Uggalepih which actually has beds and such.
Also, I can't find any basic information on these quests... Where do i begin even the first one?
