Genbu's Shield and Pallas's Shield are the only two shields in the game dropped by an NM of the same name.
Maybe Legion Scutum? Comes from a psychflayer. Also has the benefit of being all jobs.
I'm feeling like the gigas shields are a bit of a red herring. Why would it be named after them if it wasn't theirs? Trying to approach this from the angle of shields all jobs could wear and not crafted, one that immediately springs to mind given the clue is the Wreslter's Aspis. Though, I think this comes from a BC or two, which probably eliminates its possibility. The Legion Scutum is another all jobs shield. Only others are the other subjob shields, but they wouldn't make sense compared to Wrestler's except for maybe the Pilferer's Aspis... since it would imply someone stole it.
Definitely something where getting another language's interpretation could help.
This?
Doesn't necessarily mean you have to WEAR it. It could imply that you must carry it and then /trade it to something.Trophy Shield
A shield claimed by a Gigas off the body of a particularly renowned adventurer it slew.
Who has time to camp 100 random old lotto NMs >.>
For all that work they should give you an RME or something crazy good.
Grabbing at straws here but the new login campaign gives out crates/boxes from beadeux[s]. Maybe that's a clue? Nevermolt drops terror shield also. Is there any shield that's more or less obscure and forgotten but can be obtained through Steal/Despoil? The thing with the doll gizmo and mana barrel are making use of long obscure and pointless items and references to the glitch flower in konscat is more fan service. Maybe they want to make use or reference things most players dont know about or have forgotten about after 12 years.
Who is to say that the shield can't be job exclusive? Some of the RoEs are, after all.
JP Wiki says to take a mahogany shield to the stone monument in vunkerl S. Think you have to have it equipped, so has to be on one of the jobs on it.
well, it is a shield reclaimed from a gigas, but...
"My sojourn into Vunkerl Inlet was naturally motivated by cartography rather than simple curiosity. But I must be honest. There was another desire that quickened my stride. The waters of this inlet are fed by both the warm currents of the Bastore Sea and the cold currents of the Sea of Shu'Meyo. Perhaps you now understand my excitement. To the best of my knowlege, Vunkerl Inlet is second-to-none as a fishing paradise. My mounting excitement was cruelly dashed by footfalls that echoed like peals of thunder. I ducked under cover in time to witness several Gigas pass right before my hiding spot. I guessed these to be brigands from the north, landed here to plunder and pillage. The Gigas wore a number of round shields hanging from their waists, of curiously small proportion to their size. My thoughts ran to the vikings rumored to inhabit the islands in the northern ocean. There would be no fishing for me here."
If Ouschrahd Galka are rhazowan vikings, that's interesting... but stated nowhere in game.
FWIW, can confirm 393 triggers quest Shiver Me Timbers - not before. Can also confirm that I'm an idiot for forgetting that displacers exist.
I'm assuming running around in KRT killing skellies is going to be the best way to farm sparks as a mnk main and currently only geared job? (500+ dmg quest)
You could go to abby where nearly every single hit is a crit over 500 dmg with the right atmas plus mobs will last longer.
hmm can you summon trusts in abyssea? Dual marches and haste is nice
I think focusing on killing would be faster than trying to cleave... I'd do an SoA though. Kill 5 mobs get 100-160 depending on zone on top of all the other stuff you would normally set. Most zones the mobs still die decently fast. Plus capacity points for pimping that hundred wiffs!
One of the outside adoulin zones with trusts and proper ROEs set should be better than abyssea, also benefit of capacity points.
