I have been a fan of the Trust system since it was released. I have collected most of them (missing Ingrid, Maat, and Luzaf) and even if some of them aren't that good, I like to summon random ones for fun.

I really like F. Coffin. I think he's a good healer, and I feel that buying him with sparks is intentional, so that any player starting out around this time could have an extremely helpful healer/melee. I haven't tested really low level, but he has the 2/mp refresh at level 37 or so at the very least. He also seems conservative in his actions, only focusing on hasting [at the proper level of the spell] whoever has the monster's attention. Since you initiate battle with your weapon, the first thing he does is give you haste, and then if you have a tank trust, they take enmity, and get haste/cured and debuffs removed.

One thing I feel may or may not be a good thing, is that he will only remove debuffs from whoever is tanking. He will cure anyone in yellow HP, but will leave them blind/paralyzed, etc, unless they get the monster's attention. Based on my observations, he will only remove paralyze from himself, I'm assuming so he could remove it from whoever is tanking, and be able to cure if needed. He won't even remove status ailments that affect him (like bind). I could be wrong, but this is what I've observed.

While I have been reading this thread for a long time (this is my first non-introduction post), what is the general opinion of which trust NPCs are the most useful? I hear good things about Zeid, and I think Najelith and possibly Ayame.

A number of trusts have a few unique quirks that benefit certain situations. Just like the different healers have different patterns and behaviors that might make one more suited than others, no trust is downright superior to the rest.

Zeid I haven't used very much, so I can't say with certainty, but he stuns enemy moves and also steals their buffs, so he might be useful for battlefields and NMs. Ayame is great for setting up skillchains, not so much damage. She waits until you use a WS, then exclusively uses a great katana WS that opens the highest possible SC for your attack. Great for skillchain trial weapons and the like.

I mostly use trusts for mob farming whenever I get a new daily RoE, so I go for max damage output with a healer on the side. Elivira and Najelith's ranged attacks are powerful, along with Barrage and the occasional high damage WS, and I go with Ferreous as my healer because he hastes me.

In other situations, I would swap out Najelith for Noillurie or Tenzen to eliminate the chance for AoE attacks mucking everything up, and if I need an extra buff, I'll take Joachim for his songs. I don't have a favorite tank alter ego, but if I needed one I would just go with Trion, he seems most dependable.

Other than that, Sakura and Moogle are perhaps the most useful and unique for rieves in that, if you're solo, they have no downside. A permanent regen/refresh effect as long as you stay alive, because they are immune to damage, and as anyone who's done a WKR can attest, keeping alter egos alive is next to impossible.

If only SE could take the mentality they apply to Trusts and apply it to things like jug pets or BLU magic.

Honestly though, people keep talking about how good Ayame is but I haven't been able to get her to do anything people are saying she does. Even after I've WS, she holds her TP until 3000 and then when she finally DOES WS, she uses one that doesn't SC with CDC. I've found Coffin is a WAY better SC partner. WS immediately at 1000TP, only uses the Relic club WS, which always results in opening up light SCs for me.

Operator error. Look up skillchain charts and you'll see cdc doesn't chain with normal gkt ws. Well maybe low ones but I've only see her use the higher level ones and kagero. So she literally waits for you to use a ws she can chain with

More explicitly, CdC is Distortion/Light. To open a skillchain for that would require one of: Fragmentation (to open Distortion), Gravitation (to open Darkness) or Light (to open Light). The only GK weaponskills with those properties are Shoha (Fragmentation), Rana (Gravitation), Fudo (Light) and Kaiten (Fragmentation/Light). All of those are merited or REM weaponskills, and I'm pretty sure no trusts have access to any REM weaponskills without the unique weapon related to it (which Ayame does not), and none have any merited weaponskills.

Try Requiescat and she'll open with Gekko, though.

I use Requiescat with my 99 Blue Mage, and I can confirm that as soon as I hit 1000TP, Ayame will do Gekko to set up for the SC. I do not fight strong monsters, usually stuff in Morimar (Peistes mostly, since I use their stingers for Inventor's Coalition), so when she does it, the monster is fairly close to dead.

Thank you for the information, Fireon. I use those NPCs as well when I'm not using random ones (I sometimes look at the trust NPC list like ordering from a menu ). I also think I was aware of trusts dying quick in wkr. I did my first wkr (working on older content first) recently, with Moogle, Sakura, and Mihli, and she pretty much died within minutes of entry. I also didn't know what I was supposed to be doing, and ended up being the attention of the big tree for a while, until I was eventually able to break free, and help with adds. I didn't die because people are nice enough to keep me alive, but I feel like I probably shouldn't have been attacking the tree head on. I have no prior experience with wkr, and went in blind. It was fun, though.

So It seems ayame knows her skillchain charts even better then I previously thought. Not only does she know to to start a skillchain but she kniws how to and will hold tp in order to setup a 3 step with you. Example I'm on pld and use req... normally she will gekko when we both have tp so I can darkness. But if say I'm using Zeid and he is close she will wait for him to ws and then try to make distortion with that so I can 3 step darkness. Though she messes up the timing half the time and does gekko still but at about the same time as zeid goes lol. Took me by surprise the first couple of times. I was like wtf enpi!?!

The skillchain partner we deserve, but not the one we need right now

I noticed something like this using ayame and the new sam trust. I used victory smite and usually ayame would open light for me but sometimes (though i wasnt hip to it yet) would make light with each other (the two sams) for which i could smite for double light. I only accidently did this a few times and took me a bit to figure out that is why they both were doing their moves instead of waiting for me, though sometimes they will go at the same time. And amazingly once i figured it out they would never have tp when i did and then they would blow their tp on the last 2% of mob hp. Of course i could be totally wrong but i did make a double light a few times so they might be smart enough to do this.

Ferreous Coffin does not seem to be able to remove weakness.

They made some adjustments to a few trusts, Volker is the one i recall... his adjustments seem to be like the notes said, an "Offensive" and "Defensive" mode.

When he doesn't have hate, he'll use Berserk and Warcry, and still provoke.

When he has hate, he'll use Defender and Retaliation.

Star Sybil seems to give Magic Attack Up when she's out. I haven't tried her in a fight so I don't know what else she does.

She does nothing in a fight and doesn't seem to take any damage, haven't tried to see if she gives increased magic skillups

Is it safe to assume that march from trusts is a +0 march?

From what I can tell they have permanent sweetspot, at least Elivira always strikes true from any distance.
