They are, and they require currency relative to that expansion.
Tenzen: Conquest Points
Mihli: Imperial Standing
Valaineral: Allied Notes
Joachim: Cruor

" The items needed to summon their respective alter egos can be acquired by exchanging the following types of currency with the NPC with which you can normally exchange that currency."

1K conquest points for tenzen
2K allied notes for Valaineral

These are pretty cheap! I'm surprised. Would've thought something like 15-20,000 AN would be a good way to reinvigorate Campaign, even if just for a weekend.
Lion's from the next login campaign, similar to Zeid.

Joachim is 5k Cruor.

Okay.
Tenzen: His normal Samurai self. Seen him use Amatsu: Yukiarashi, Amatsu: Hanaikusa, Amatsu: Torimai, and Amatsu: Tsukioboro (Highest damage so far). Does decent damage.

Mihli: A melee WHM. Shellra, Protectra, etc. Seen her use Scouring Bubbles, AoE water damage, Hexa Strike, and Brainshaker, so far.

Joachim: A BRD/WHM that uses ranged attacks, and erases. He cast Victory March and Blade Madrigal, Carnage Elegy for debuffing, and throws stuff at the enemies. He will stand up to 12' away.
No TP moves so far.

I just got march and madrigal from Joachim O.o
Valaineral is pld/war and uses uriel blade
Joachim seems brd/whm cause he used silena and also uses throwing as attacks
Mihli used protectra5 and shellra5 so whm/something

Added Mihli's WS cause i think she might messed up some skillchain with tenzen's unique WS
Which makes me think we might get walk the plank if we get uriel blade and Tsukikage in the trust NPC versions

If you're using Joachim, don't engage enemies with yellow HP or lower. He can and will give you 2x Paeons.

On the upside, this makes Joachim the first NPC in the game to have an instrument.

Joachim will use Mage's Ballad III when MP gets low for casters as well.

Actually, at least on my screen, he doesn't have an instrument. He casts with the harp animation but doesn't have a harp in his hands.

Well, what I meant was that every other BRD NPC in the game can only give a maximum of 1 buff and has a 17' maximum casting distance (but they still start casting at 20'). These are both hallmarks of not wearing an instrument, and he at least seems to bypass the first restriction.

Just now, Joachim managed to get Madrigal, March, and Ballad on me all at once. It seems he can do at least 3 songs, but just isn't programmed to do it usually.

I really dont know what SEs beef with haste is ¬.¬. not accessionable, NPCs dont like to cast it, they didnt want to release a tier II spell of it. omg it would be so OP!!!!!!!!

Cool that Tenzen has Tsukikage, lame that it doesn't appear to chain anything. I didn't expect to get Cosmic Elucidation either way, that was never really a "skillchain", it was more just a move he used, and I imagine lore-wise he can't actually use it because it's not the real Tenzen.
