Yes, and I highly suggest it. It was visually stunning in IMAX.

It's tough to describe my feelings towards the movie; in short, it's a great movie that I have no desire to see again really. Definitely not on par with 2001, but I thought it was materially more engaging than Gravity.

I agree with Tyche entirely about the ending. They went too far in an attempt for closure / fan appeasement imo. Yes, I have no idea what happens inside a singularity, but I would bet money it's not that odd tesseract. Though I guess the implication was that we, sometime in the future, actually created the tesseract as a way to prevent the end of the world? Thought that was implied during his monologue, but it became somewhat convoluted at that juncture.

I wasn't a great fan of the film. Half the cast mumbled and the music overpowered anything they were saying anyway.
    Spoiler: show
at the beginning when they were talking about the ghost, I thought to myself I bet that's the main character even if only in a 6th Sense movie type of way. Matt Damon's character - I couldn't tell at the end if he wanted to go home or complete the mission due to the mumbling/music.

The constant mumbling was definitely annoying as shit. I kept thinking "SUBTITLES PLZ!" throughout the entire movie.

Just watched it. I had avoided all kinds of previews and I enjoyed it. I also cried quite a bit during different parts of the movie.

Someone please explain to me the "They are us" part of the movie. If mankind from the future were able to put that wormhole there, then humans as a species are doing perfectly fine, no? Its not like cooper's mission saves mankind because if they're able to build that tesserect or whatever and put a wormhole for past humans to discover, then humans from the future got to where they are without cooper's help. Right? Here's another example of what I'm trying to say: If a future me suddenly appeared and stopped someone from killing me, then how did I originally survive to be able to go back and save myself?

The only mumbling part that really bothered me was

    Spoiler: show
When Michael Caine was dying in the bed. That shit was so annoying.

the only reason they made it to the future is because Cooper saved them. Think of it as 2 loops, 1 loop that we go back and effect and another loop outside of that that continues with or without our interaction. It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy; we couldn't survive without Cooper's interaction with the past, but we only were able to interact with the past because of Cooper's interaction with the past. Yes, it's confusing. and yes there are other theories of time travel that work differently. Shut up and just enjoy the great movie.

About Mann, what does he want exactly?
Sabotage the entire mission and just head home OR being rescued, leave the planet, join the expedition and help with plan B?
The former feels so clichè , but the latter seems pretty difficult to achieve once you start murdering people here and there.

About Amelia at the end, why is Cooper the only one who can help her out?
I understand humans made colonies around Saturn and the wormhole, but are they saying NO ONE took a ship and traveled to check on the new planets while they were building all that stuff?

There was no need once Murphy solved the gravity equation. We're left to assume the equation was something important enough to power humans indefinitely in space.

^That's not what I think we're left to assume.

    Spoiler: show
The whole point of the gravity equation was to move the giant spaceships from earth to the new colony. It looked like when Cooper was picked up when the cylindrical ships were on their way to the colony. Which begs the question: why the fuck did Cooper steal a ship just to get there a bit earlier?

Then again, Murphy alledgedly solved the gravity equation like 80 years before Cooper was picked up in space... so maybe they were just sitting out there enjoying space life...

    Spoiler: show
did they mention what had happened to Earth? Was all the remaining human population living on one space station or did they build more than one?

The way that Murph was talking about Brand at the end, had they somehow already found out that she was at the other colony or did they not know until Cooper was rescued?

I assumed that Cooper was going to use the black hole to get to Brand, but they didn't show it at the end so you wonder if it still exists.

I just remembered, that description of a black hole with the piece of paper, I swear I've seen it done exactly that way before - maybe in the Stargate film?

    So many questions...

The wormhole description was similar to the one in Event Horizon.

I've seen the later posts attempting to explain this, but I agree with you. There's like an infinite logic loop for anyone not well versed in the intricacies of space time. Your last example about the "future me" is exactly what I was thinking the entire time as I drove home after the movie.

It also reminds me of Donnie Darko. When did the loop begin etc.

To respond to all these above comments,

Murphy had to be transferred from another colony, so we assume there's more then one space colony. The gravity equation was needed as a power source to move all humans to the new colony. Don't forget, they sent out the Endeavor 80+ years ago and haven't received any messages for 78+ years; they had no reason to send more people, especially if they were capable of living in space. For all we know, they were taking their sweet time getting to the worm hole and were going to send expeditions once they got there. Plus, it took them 8 months iirc to reach the worm hole from earth with the Endeavor, but 50ish years from the completion of the formula to reach it. Either they took their sweet time lifting off earth, or they just simply needed that much time to get there. Either works since, again, they hadn't received word from the expedition in nearly a century.

I like the ending only cause it gave closure to the Cooper/earth story while still giving us closure on what's gonna happen on the new planet. I was expecting it to end when the tesseract was closed, but then we'd be left wondering what happened to Hathaway. Glad they went this route honestly.

maybe.... (and this is a limb, but so was everything about this movie, which i loved btw)

Humans evolved on that planet with anne hatheway, cause she had the population bomb... so they evolved, and lived, and advanced, and had all the historical records and info and matt mcchanehyefuckhislastname im drunk died after he went into the gargantuan black hole.
assuming he had sent all his recordings, hataway finished the equation, and started up the new human race on that new planet, and when they advanced far enough (the entire time knowing about the gravity equation and also internet, and the wheel, and fire, and tablet phones and roomba's and all that cool shit we've invented) they basically started off without any of the shit things, like war, and racism, and sexual hatred and abortion politics and all the bullshit that we have to deal with.
So they get to a point where they can affect things forward and backward, but only so much, and they compute (nigga said "compute") a way to ease the transition of humanity to the new world, further speeding up the evolution of the new human race... and creating the loop.... so...
1st path you have the results of the population bomb
2nd path you have the results of the population bomb reaching back to affect the gravity equation quicker.

Either way, anne hatheway killed the dream i dreamed.
