Wow, the last boss for haukke manor hard is quite the fight. All of us were i90'ish and the bard seemed kind of flaky, but we just barely killed adds in time before she consumed them. Again, the bard could have been dps'ing the boss and not the adds, i'm not sure lol

Brief blogpost on Ultima and Garuda Extreme

    Ultima
-Plants a stacking debuff on tank, if it builds to 5 stacks it's instant death. Just swap at 3-4 stacks. Don't think it does anything else before 5. Should have a good 20+s between each stack.

    "Phase 1"
-Garuda pops in the center facing some direction, shows a big cone that covers the whole arena in front of her. Ultima does Ifrit's knockback move followed by Garuda's move. If you're not a tank, need to be aware of what direction Ultima will push you. But shouldn't be lethal
-Garuda vortex + Titan Geocrush, just like Praetorium's phase 1

"Phase 2" - begins when Garuda pops out of Ultima's body
-Ifrit plumes outside -> Titan plumes inside; can stand directly in the middle to dodge this set of Titan plumes (like shown in the patch preview)
-Ifrit plumes inside -> Titan plumes outside

"Phase 3" - when Titan leaves
-Eruptions, picks 2 people, spawns about 5? Note that the time between explosions is long enough that you can dart back and forth between 2 spots if your connection is good
-Radiant Plume formations ("X" and "|" and some other stuff) + Ifrit also does Crimson cyclone (dashing move) during some of these.

    Phase 4 - bye ifrit
-Aetheric Boom: knocks everyone back to the edge and spawns several tethered balls like
    O--------O
The balls gradually close in on each other. If they touch you instantly lose. Balls do about 7k damage split among the number of players in range of it when you get close and make it detonate. Offtank can probably eat one, rest of the party should group up for the rest. Note you only have to kill one "end" of the tether to make both disappear.

First balls are pretty easy I believe

-Spawns magitek bit adds (shoot lasers) in a ring around the center of the arena. Maybe 30 seconds later does a double airship drop (outside edge mitigates most; watch for lasers while dodging)

-Tank Purge, party-wide AoE for like 1.6k to 2.2k. If people took full strength airship drop this will probably kill them.

Patten repeats, 2nd balls have 1 short tether making like an H shape with 2 longer tethers.
2nd magitek bits spawn on outside edge, 4x airship drop (middle mitigates most I think?)
    Tank Purge

3rd balls are 4 very short tethers; you have about 4 seconds before any one of them unite. On winning attempt I just sac'd myself on one as DPS, rather than have everyone wipe.

I guess there's more to it but we just LB3'd at that point and won so whatever.

    Garuda Extreme:
30 seconds in, she creates the phase 2 vortex around the outside edge, so you need to be inside with the rocks. She'll teleport after making vortext, shoot down feather aoe (~2k+ with a 600/tick dot) around where people usually tanked her in front of the rock. She'll reappear and do Mistral from the direction of the "tank rock" (extremely short cast time); you need to already be in rock LoS. Summons 1 satin plume + a bunch of the regular plumes.

About a minute? later, spawns sisters and the vortex will dissipate for now. One sister will have a dashed orange-red line going to Garuda, the other won't have a line yet. After maybe 5 seconds, the off-sister will draw a green line to the dashed sister. The closer the 2 sisters are, the more stacks of "vulnerability down" they get at this point. If they are within melee range of each other, it's at max (8) and you only do single-digit damage. Need to separate them preferably the whole arena apart, but one complication.

After maybe 30 seconds, Garuda and "red" sister swap places (and hate?). So if you had OT drag red away while DPS burned down Green at tank, that'll suddenly become difficult if she's not dead by then. Instead probably better to drag green away and let main tank handle both Garuda and red.

After maybe 30 more seconds (I'm bad at time), all 3 pop into the middle for Aerial Blast like normal. If you're doing it right, everyone should only take like ~900-1k damage. If you're doing it wrong you wipe here.

Now "phase 2" starts with the vortex around the outside again. She spawns regular plumes plus a new green plume (forget name atm). When the green plume dies it will do a small suicide move aoe (hurts; dont get hit), then leave behind a green bubble (like Sacred Soil) for a few seconds. You need to save this plume's death for when Garuda teleports for Mistral whatever in this phase. Need to be in the green buble to heavily mitigate this, otherwise you die. We got tired at this point so that's all we got. Right after this she spawned another greenplume, sisters, and 5 of the big HM "fuckoff" tornados in an X pattern like shown in the patch preview.

    Yoshida on housing prices.
    Spoiler: show

    Regarding Housing Price

This is FFXIV: ARR Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida. First of all, allow me to express my thanks to all of you who have offered feedback on the matter of housing prices. Needless to say, I have been following the discussion very closely.

In this post, I would like to clarify our fundamental stance toward housing prices, and offer a better picture of how players can expect prices to fall in the near future.
(My apologies in advance if this post gets a bit wordy.)

    Fundamental Pricing Stance
Our fundamental stance toward housing prices was that we wanted to ensure that plots would be evenly distributed, avoiding a situation in which the wealthiest players could easily buy up all available plots of land. Please understand that while we will be adding servers and expanding housing areas as soon as we can, it is simply physically impossible for us to accomplish this easily, in a matter of one or two weeks.

If the initial price of land was easily within the means of wealthy players, one can envision all available plots of land being snatched up immediately, leaving other players—even those possessing the necessary gil—unable to purchase land for an extended period of time. Seeking to avoid this, we made the difficult decision to go forward with the pricing scheme we presented, aware that many players would be unable to afford housing for a while.
    Eorzean Economy Review
Before determining the initial (or maximum) prices for land, we conducted an extensive survey of the Eorzean economy across multiple Worlds, including:

    • The total amount of gil possessed by all players
    • The total amount of gil possessed by all active players on each World
    • The number of active free companies and members on each World
    • The total amount of gil owned by all active players belonging to each free company on all Worlds
    • The amount of gil entering the economy and circulating in the market on a given day in each World
    • Distribution of the above (X% belonging to the most wealthy, Y% belonging to the middle class, Z% to the less wealthy, etc.)

Needless to say, RMT traders are served with immediate bans and their gil removed from circulation, so these figures are not included in the above. In addition, to account for gil generated by RMT abuses that might still be in circulation, an additional 10% or so was subtracted from the figures we arrived at.

What we realized from this survey was that the wealthiest players in each world had at their disposal an amount of gil that was considerably higher than one would imagine. In each legacy World, there are more than ten players in possession of over one hundred million gil. Even in non-legacy Worlds, there are a significant number of players with several million gil.
    he Future Price of Housing
In conducting this survey, we created a forecast for gil distribution in the three-month period following the release of patch 2.1. In doing so, we anticipated that:

    • Players will be seeking to earn more gil than they have thus far, and
    • The overall amount of gil generated each day will be higher (in fact, considerably higher) with the release of patch 2.1

    ...and adjusted our forecast accordingly.

The results of this forecast, with the necessary adjustments for differences between the various Worlds, formed the basis for the depreciated "XX Days Later" prices presented in the patch notes.

With this pricing scheme, we sought a balance in which roughly 80% of all existing free companies will be able to purchase at least a small-sized plot in three months’ time.

I understand that, in taking these measures to ensure even distribution of land, we are asking for considerable patience from those players who are eager to enjoy housing right away. While I sympathize with players concerns, we believe that this is in the best long-term interests of the game.
The Regulation of Starting and Final Prices
As mentioned within the patch notes, we will closely monitor land purchases, and consider revising prices as necessary according to World population and economy. Please keep in mind that prices will decrease every six hours from the opening of the servers, and will continue to drop even during maintenance. Furthermore, plots of land released in the future will never be more expensive.
    Legacy World Price Adjustments
Due to the prodigious amount of gil in circulation in legacy Worlds, we regret that current housing prices may be prohibitive to the following players:

    • Those new to the game who started on legacy Worlds
    • Those returning to a legacy World after taking an extended break
    • Those on a legacy World who have been unable to save gil

Upon considering the feedback we have received since the release of the patch notes, we have decided to make the following adjustments:

    • Land prices will start at the figures indicated in the patch notes
    • From January 2014, devaluation will be adjusted every two weeks
    • After three months, final land prices will match those of World Group 3

    * World Group 3 (third listed in the patch notes)
    Bahamut / Behemoth / Cactuar / Carbuncle / Chocobo / Diabolos / Fenrir / Garuda / Gilgamesh / Ifrit / Leviathan / Mandragora / Midgardsormr / Odin / Ramuh / Shiva / Siren / Tiamat / Titan / Tonberry / Ultros
Although this takes place over the course of three months, land prices in legacy Worlds will eventually fall to match those of World Group 3. In the event that pricing changes are made to this group, the same will be applied to legacy Worlds.

By adjusting devaluation at set intervals rather than in one go, we hope to prevent a sudden rash of purchases.

The introduction of housing will help to unify the perceived value of gil in each individual World. Furthermore, it has presented an opportunity for us to consider the lifting of restrictions on transfers between between legacy and non-legacy Worlds.
    Personal Housing
While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.
    In Summary

    • The final price of land on all Worlds is subject to adjustments, and may fall lower
    • Over the course of three months, prices on legacy Worlds will fall to match those of World Group 3
    • Personal housing will be far more affordable than free company housing

We realize that these measures will not immediately satisfy all players, especially those on legacy Worlds who are either new to the game or returning from extended absences. We ask for your patience and understanding as we strive to create a balanced housing system.

Considering the ilvl requirement, we were probably dealing way more damage than we needed to. UW didn't even get the chance to start casting Ultima.

To me it seems like most of these problems could have been fixed if housing was instanced like it was in XI. Except instead of being restricted to your single room, you'd be restricted to your yard.

So I'm already seeing people on the new goobbue mount and such. Isn't it supposed to be a max rank item? Is there another way? Or is shit just broken and people are able to buy them?

Edit: Or it's a daily thing? Just saw like 10 of them in Larkscall.

Some quests involve the new mounts. You can only buy crafting mats at the basic reputation level.
Also they seem to have doubled base crafting leve exp on all leves except the repeatable ones (where you can turn in items three times). I haven't done one yet but I'm assuming the HQ bonus has been halved so it's basically only a nerf for certain types of leves, the others give the same exp and exping has been made easier because you can turn in even NQ and not be penalized as much.

You can ride the mounts currently as part of the quest to destroy obstacles etc.

You can't currently buy the mounts to ride anywhere yet

"Wahh I can't have FC housing the first day, I have to actually organize and construct a plan with my FC and have a goal to work towards."
"Oh my god there are no ways to make gil only 3 items sell in the market."

I can't believe people are seriously complaining about this shit. I'm so sick of peoples instant gratification attitude. MMOs are there because you can work towards something, and it feels good when you finally win that fight, get that achievement, buy that house. Why is it so bad to really work together to earn something, really come up with ideas and plans together?
If you really can't find good ways to make gil, your lazy. Period. I started on a legacy server as a first time player and if I want to make money, I can. You need to be smart, but there are a lot of things you can do if you put effort into it and not cry on the forums all day.
