    Nigga, what's your name? I'm genuinely curious now.

    For SMN it's more for when I'm being beat on than anything else. A lot of times I'll have 2-3 people wailing on me and any casts I can sneak off before I get interrupted again helps. However, it's also a slot game. A lot of the caster gear has DET or Crit on it so I can't stack that anyway, and SS is the next best thing with no other real options. I also enjoy it for the cast time on Tri-Disaster which is somewhat long...

    I would def like a PM on how to play my SCH in PvP, I can't for the life of me seem to survive after I hit sprint, run around and use up my 6 Aethrflows on Lus.

    I just came back to FF after a good 4-5 month break. I didn't even know there was PvP! I bought all the HQ Wolf Accessories and have full Darklight on the other half. What should I be queing for 30-40-50? I played a bunch tonight and got Purify and the Atonement (I think... I logged out, but the wow trinket equiv and the one for 90% reduced dmg)

    I'd appreciate any tips on how to play SCH. I can't for the life of me cast a single spell without getting interrupted, even with surecast.

    Hey guys i just came back to pvp and i was wondering is there any chart on ilvl70 meld caps? I checked quickly this thread and i haven't found anything, also any DRG that pvps? Should i upgrade Impulse Rush? Skewer seems usless to me.

    None of them were explicitly tested on PvP gear, but I have no reason to believe that the PvP caps are any different than PvE gear.

    You cannot meld right side accessories, so you can remove those. You can add Resist+4 as the cap for PVP materia to the iLV90 as well (Same for every piece).

    Sadly, no one in that thread ever says what pieces were tested. As much as I would love to trust that some random shmuck knows how materia works, people frequently screw it up. If you confirm an i90 head, I'll gladly add it to the list under head/hands/feet, but I'll still be lacking data for body/legs, weapon, and shield.

    Also, I'm not going to remove the data for accessories, since this list was intended for anything that might exist in the future (I wouldn't be surprised if crafted i90 accessories pop up after 2.2 hits), but I will try to remember to add a note that says i90 PvP accessories are unmeldable.

    This is random, but I keep reading on reddit and OF that people keep telling others to stick to the 30/40 bracket until they hit rank 30 and I just hope no one is actually doing that. On my server we just had the first influx of people who did just that, and they are by far and away some of the easiest people to spank. It really seems detrimental more than anything.

    They do that because Morale is non-existent in 30/40 cap, and if they go straight to 50-cap they'll get spanked even harder.

    That is another false assumption. It is more than plausible to get outplayed by i70s. It happens to me and every other r30 on occasion. There are some really skilled people in i70 out there. This is just an easy answer that people keep peddling.

    Fair enough, but if you don't have the i70 set, would you still advocate going straight to 50-cap? Doing 30/40-cap until Rank30 does seem absurd, but it still makes sense to me to do it enough until you have the points for decent gear (the i70 set).

    Not at all, that's why my post is worded to address the idea that you should stay there permanently until rank 30. I am advocating playing in the 50 bracket once you have i70 simply because the meta and strategies are so different. The lack of experience shows even with a full i90 set.

    Detrimental to what? To their PVP-playing skill? There are some people who are just doing this for certain bis direwolf pieces (hi2u sch boots/ring) and not really interested in pvp'ing much once they hit rank 30.

    I assume you have not really seen just how much EXP is needed to attain rank 30 based on this comment. In solo Q, you get 6x as much exp on average for a win as compared to a loss. Are you saying it's better to just waste your time and corpse grind to 30? If so, at that point you might as well just be using a pvp bot that does it for you. Learning to PvP and have a chance at winning is still beneficial in the case you described.

    Not sure how that addresses the idea of queueing @ 40 cap for the chance of winning more but ok. And no, there's no corpse grind intention, I have a full set of lvl 40/ilvl 43 left side specifically to win more @ 40 cap. Base weapon damage alone is 10% over lvl 40 weapons/synced weapons, extra str etc, and the ilvl 43 vit ends up giving me tank level HP.

    Edit: I've done 40 cap and 50 cap pvp and don't find the effective difference in strats all that great. There are differences of course but the likelihood of losing in a 50 seems higher to me than a 40 by my experience so it'd be more of a corpse grind to not do this this way.
