One of the main problems with XIV's PvP is that only Arena style PvP is offered right now. Even in more PvP centric MMOs, arena style is less populated than the battleground objective type PvP. Not being able to duel or have exhibition matches outside of the Wolves' Den is also kinda shit. I still don't like XIV PvP too much but those PVP sets look baller so I might have to start queuing again.
I'm getting 30-60 second queues at the moment in a group of 3.
MRD PVP: Is enemy healer good?
No: Pop all CDs and kill GG EASY
Yes: Mind-games that are extremely complicated and yet resolved quickly and violently. Just like a duel between two master samurai. Can I duck in cover quick enough to LOS their BLM/BRD? How many cooldowns do I need to spend to bait out attunement? Do I have enough time to stun and kill before he can attune? Can I kill the summoner instead while the melee is harassing the healer? And so on. You think of a hundred scenarios in your mind before the gate opens. Then your dragoon teammate blows spineshatter dive on the opening face off and gets slept.
lol.
Anyone on Hyperion want to be my mentor for PvP? I'm a Rank7(almost 8) noob MNK sporting a 22-30 record.
I wouldn't recommend skipping all R30 pieces since the grind from 30 to 40 is significant. At the very least, deck out your left side. That said, I would recommend both sides.
Queues have been good as healer. Good to see older R30 players back.
Left side i100 starts at rank 32 and goes every 2 levels so I wouldn't do every left side piece. Plus 50 queues seem dead and everyone is doing 40s. No morale in the 40s and under queues.
We're on different data centers, so I cannot tell if that's due to your rank or because players simply don't do LV50 matches there. With the previous update to PVP rank matching, the queue delays any matches that would place characters of significantly different ranks against each other. If you test with four man PTs (LV50), you should get an instant queue if two full PTs queue but you don't if the ranks are significantly different.
Stat benefit:
The jump from iLV70 to iLV90 is much more significant than the jump from iLV90 to iLV100.
Practical benefit:
A player wearing iLV70 in a crowd of iLV90 is going to stand out if the group is coordinated enough to move between targets.
Marks:
You'll have enough marks for full iLV90 set by the time you hit rank 30. The XP between levels 30 and 40 will give you enough marks for the next upgrade most likely. For example, you gain 60XP and 100 marks/win at LV50 matches. Going to LV32, you need 5340 XP. That makes 89 consecutive wins for marks, so 5340 to 8900 marks for just that level. Before that, you have roughly 4930(?) XP to obtain, so another 4.9k to 8k marks roughly. That's a total of 10k to 16k marks going into LV32. If you only did left side armor, you'll have leftover marks to throw at the R30 accessories.
Edit: Slight modification to the marks.
Looks like queues only lasted a day. Back to 5-10 minutes.![]()
Eanae, you pvp with Fate Li? That son of a gun is one tough nut to crack!

Just the sudden ooos and ahhhs of the nice looking armor. The realization of the work needed is going to turn people right back off.
Sit in queue 25 minutes at 3am just to be greeted by this: http://i.imgur.com/5QJu9KW.png
I gotta admit, seeing those values, which are already unrealistic and inaccurate as far as the hours/days/amount of time, the morale for pvp in general on my data center, I don't even know if I'll make it lol. Q times are atrocious, and frontlines just sounds like a better game.
Yea played with/against that guy all day yesterday, he's real bad in general lol. To be fair, it's as bad people not melding their gear even in the safe slots, which is quite wtf.
