Other day ended up doing some pvp with a friend. They wanted to complete some stuff in their challenge log to get some gil/overall completion and they mentioned pvp. Didn't think she would go for it but had her go sch and I was on mrd.10/11 wins it felt so good. She had a blast too so might get to farm it more often. I can't wait for frontlines to be out and not be too far behind hopefully.

What effects the EXP/Marks you receive from matches?

They should really replace the generic "Fresh Meat" names with the person's job/class, when shit gets hectic your targeting can get fucked up and every target being the same makes that way worse (especially if you have auto-target on).

Also telling the difference between WHMs and BLMs in 30-40 is really annoying (and vitally important) during the opening moments of a match.

Queue times are terrible, half the time I see at least 1 person in my party get the achievement for doing their first PvP match. So many healers just cast protect and sit there during the (obnoxiously and unnecessarily long) waiting period before the match, don't even bother to stoneskin themselves much less anyone else.

You do realize that in the lvl 30 bracket where you run into all these new players, WHM can't actually stoneskin?

I know they don't have it in 30, yes.

I automatically start SSing the party in 30 caps as MRD (there's just enough time for me to regen MP for 4 casts).

A bit late on this, currently at 5,867 games, but I just realized there is a title with it. About 1,200 more wins to go for the Alpha Wolf...the horror. Putting on hold as I've wrapped up my PvP days until frontlines, geared pld and bard in animal sets, and 20k/20k marks.

Kinda wild thinking I have almost 100 hours locked behind a gate. xD

So I just started doing the PvP thing a couple weeks ago and I got the full i70 PvP armor set for my BRD. My PvE set is i98 and I'm wondering if dropping nearly 30 iLvls is worth the morale. I lose almost 1k HP and over 30 DEX when I'm in the PvP set.

Is Morale really worth that much? Or should I stay in PvE gear until I can get the i90 PvP gear? I'm using the Tidal Wave bow if that matters.

Morale is strong, but it depends on where you are in the PvP world. It does nothing in the 30 and 40 queues, but does in the 50 queue. If you're low to mid rank, your PvE i98 will be better off I'd say than the PvP i70, but once you start competing against people in the i90 and i100 PvP sets you're going to get stomped hard. If you're a win trader you could also just skip the i90 set and start grabbing animal sets, though if they somehow fix that you could be screwed if you get in the rank range with no i90 PvP gear.

i'm rank 19 pvp and i usually go mrd. with all skills useable thing i have full swing 2 + 3 and two more upgrades left over. i'm thinking of STR 1 + 2 or thrill of war 2 + 3.

any advice?

Purify? or do the battles not last long enough to take advantage of the reduced recast? I just now realized I maxed my purify before the patch, but the reduced recast never actually helped me.

Recast reduction on all skills tend to be pretty useless, matches just don't last long enough.

yeah i normally do 30 and 40 so i typically don't see enough matches that last long enough for it to matter.

Quick question here - I'm aware that Morale replaces Defense and Magic Defense in Level 50 PvP and it's not factored in Lv.30 and Lv.40 PvP. Does this mean that the Defense and Magic Defense stats come back into play for Lv.30/40 PvP?

What are the opinions regarding Morale not affecting Frontlines? Hoping it's a temporary thing while getting people into it before adding a new open field instance where it does matter.
