I think you're having bad luck with groups. Even bringing 2-3 of your own with you makes a massive, massive difference, especially when one single team of 8 that's on their shit can completely win the game for their alliance.

It goes without saying, but its very early. 85% of people in there don't know what the fuck is going on, and its going to be that way for awhile. I've had enough good, close matches to know the potential that lies ahead, though.

So how are MNKs setting up their hotbars for frontlines? I have 3 hotbars I use for pve. Do you just use other unused hotbars specifically for pvp or?

Note that I have never done a pvp match, but intend to get into it after friday hotfix for queue times (apparently its bad).

Any abilities/ws that are considered useless and I should scrap from pvp hotbar?

Frontlines is really fun. It's actually just like Arathi Basin with 3 teams instead of 2.

I was going to put all my PvP skills on the 5th or 6th crosshotbar and see if there is a macro command to turn a crosshotbar on or off and create a toggle for PvE vs PvP

I've won the vast majority of matches as Maelstrom :O I don't see us as too bad. Granted I am a PvP veteran.

Every faction has Elite players and every faction has scrubs. Don't fall into that hive-mind bullshit thinking of one faction having all of one type. Its an old trope from every MMO PVP game ever. They never shut up about that shit in Rift.

If you get a competent group together in queue and take B duties, it's almost an assured win.

What specifically are the ABC duties? For the most part, everyone expects each alliance to do something in particular, but I hardly ever know what that is so I just go with what I can guess.

C: "right"

B: take outpost, send dudes up to mid when mobs pop, be a roaming death squad and harass lightly-defended outposts, back up other groups?

idk I only have a few matches, this just seemed like what most (were supposed to) do.

Yesterday Maelstrom was missing a whole pt multiple times, which almost always resulted in us being barely second or last. Have a 50% first place score at 40-some matches though.

Since Frontlines caps you at i80 and forces you to sync down and syncing sometimes makes your stats (supposedly) worse, would you get better damage/stats going in with i80 gear versus your regular gear?

That works for level sync (level 40 items with say lvl 42 ilvl are twinking), but because it's ilvl sync it doesn't matter.

What it does do is expand your list of viable options. Anybody in (say) i110 "BiS" could do better by shedding anything with Accuracy and maybe Speed for something with Crit AND Det. Just have to remember the rules of secondaries on gear (a high stat and a low stat).

For SCH I've been trying to build it so Crit > Spell Speed > Det > others, but because all gear from before 2.2 had PIE+something the options are pretty slim

Do also note that materia has no effect in frontline either so put those i70 meld accs back in the closet.

Out of my 72 matches so far, only seen flames win a total of 5 times, majority of the time they're dead last always. I'm with Maelstrom but I wouldn't consider my record so far the greatest, but I don't really go with a full premade either. Currently at 37 1st place, 19 2nd, 15 3rd.

On a side note, with the new queue, I seem to always have bad luck, our side usually always starts out with the most missing members
