Is there a wold wide over all standings somewhere? Cause I'm pretty sure Maelstrom has bodied those crafters of Gridania and hobos of Uldah, jus sayin/

Those are some bold accusations you're throwing at my Adder brothers there, buddy
What pets are summoners using in Frontline? Situational, or is there a clear better annoyer? I'd think Titan or Ifrit since Garuda seems bad at interrupting people.
Not going to comment on the effectiveness of one over another (I'm not a summoner), but I see most people use Garuda. Does Ifrit lose any attacks by having to chase down his target, or is he always considered to be in range (one he reaches them for the first time), unless they sprint or something?
Situational Garuda use: I once faced an army of 6x SMN with 2 healers. They all used Garuda. UNSTOPPABLE force because it was fucking IMPOSSIBLE to target well because the summoners kept running around.
I imagine Garuda would be better to nail those guys running cuz ranged but I am not a career smn. Also that knock back move would be fun as shit to throw people off cliffs
Titan would just be silly, no one wastes time attacking pets much less a tank pet (tho if they're stupid and do waste time attacking pets, whatevs).
I tend to see a lot of Ifrits around, I'd imagine he'd be preferable to Garuda since Contagion really isn't a big deal and he gives more opportunities to stun on top of an actual stun WS.
Garuda would be good for chasing people down ranged and the like.
Ifrit/Titan can be kited pretty easily, the main issue with them is just that they hit a bunch and it might interrupt casters/healers a lot. Garuda is even easier to dupe.
It's hard to say at this point whether the people using Garuda are doing it because it's better or because it's reflex, and if the people using Titan/Ifrit are the people who use them anyways or just experimenting.
So it amounts to Shockwave knockback vs Stun move I suppose.
Ifrit when ekindle is up for sure, having that stun is nice as well. Thing about Garuda is she is a solid stream of damage that someone has to deal with, if a healer chooses to run away Ifrit is not doing anything for all that time and once you redirect it to a closer target that is more time he is not hitting. Rouse/spur garuda is annoying, contagion and shockwave are also pretty good tools. What basically works for me is this formula;
Initial skirmish -> Ifrit
Lost skirmish -> Ifrit
Won Skirmish -> Garuda
Reasoning is simple, if you won you are holding ground and your opponents movement will be erratic, if you lost they usually are standing firm and Ifrit doesn't have to chase.
Also having firsthand played matches in all 3 factions on Primal data center, I can say anyone bitching one side has "all the bads and we keep losing" is full of shit. They are all full of bads.
I use Garuda when I do go SMN in FL, overall she's been more effective for me. You'd also be surprised how often you can get off bane contagion which just eats people alive since people love stacking on top of each other. On top of that, most don't bother purify dots as well, they mainly save it for sleep/and or bind.
Edit: Anyone close to mount yet? I've only seen one person with it so far and they're in my Maelstrom PvP LS. I still got a little ways to go till I get mine, but not too far off now.
So for posterity's sake
Turning a base/outpost from Neutral to Your faction: +10 points
Killing a player: +5
Killing(majority damage) a Drone: +20 points (6 spawns at a time)
Killing(majority damage) a Node: +200 points
Bonus for holding bases/outposts: Depends on how many
1: 1/tick
2: 2/tick
3: 4/tick
4: 8/tick (fixed)
5: 16/tick
6?!: (guessing 32)
I wish you got bonus points for knocking people off with pushback. For the most part, that seems about right, yeah. There's been times where we've had 5 bases, but never paid attention to how much standing per tick it gave, I don't see a group getting all 6 anytime soon, but 5 is definitely possible, though rare still.
Also a minor thing but might help for melee vs healers in the rare case of 1v1: your 3rd combo move takes forever to come out man. Full Thrust, Halone, Butcher, 1v1 I can just time my heal after you do Vorpal/Savage/Maim for free. Save something to weave in (spirits/scorn/legsweep/brutal) for that hit.
e: Trying some Summoner (in Adders) on an alt; I'm finding Garuda works fine and well. Shockwave is actually pretty nice to have in some situations though she is painfully slow at using it sometimes. I did, on one occasion, have a monk on me near a ledge. I swiftcast Garuda and mashed on Shockwave. Bye.
Always target a war or melee with that shockwave, really good at getting a pld off a sch for a little bit when he could be stunlocked into oblivion.
Jesus warriors are pretty awesome. All I did was mash buttons and we took a bunch of points and I got 7 kills, 3 mercy stroke killshots. Holmgang is wonderful. Wish there were recast merits for it.
Nothing.
Is more satisfying that Holmgang-ing someone who just popped sprint to make a getaway and smashing their face in.
N O T H I N G
I tell you though, fucking Dragoons being able to use Elusive Jump on your Holmgang is such bullshit.
Though one could say "why did you waste Holmgang on a DRG".
Yea, it's too valuable to waste on a DPS.
Generally healers only (special exception for other MRD/WAR sometimes, just to show them who's the Alpha).
Getting destroyed today, teams going deep on flanks catching our groups off guard. Then usually people just go full retard and throw any semblance of strategy out the window. Oh, we got bopped? Sure I'll just run to mid now even though the rest of my group is going back to temple. Die early? That's OK, I'll just run back into the pack of rabid Dragoons and Bards solo.
