If they did that, I'd have literally no reason to do anything other than PVP... I'd be OK with that!

Hell make it something extremely token like 5 seals. 10 seals. People will still do it all day because fuck hunting.
Though then you might invite people who (strategically) afk the whole match for allied seals. But whatever.
maelstrom 23-14-2 wooo
have pals who are 115/17/6, 102/~23, 79/12/0 (group queue)
The amount of OF topics (and reddit now) complaining about parties with multiple healers being OP in Frontline. I'm not denying it's strong as fuck to have a ton of healers but it's not completely invincible and (so far) nobody is playing perfect. Focus fire works still.
Disclaimer: most healers I have ever been in a party with is 3, most healers I have ever fought contesting a base is like 4.
What I like is, knowing what we know about the strength of multiple healer parties, showing up in a party with zero healers with nobody being willing to change to healer.
People would rather lose with 6 monks than change to a healer.
If you actually let your party exit through that gate with zero healers then you share just as much of the blame. Nothing irks me more than people whining at others to switch when they're unwilling to do it themselves.
I'm just maining SCH in frontlines so zero fucks given.
I always switch to healers when we have zero. 1 healer is almost as useless as zero though, you know this.
Especially when, if you have people too stupid to switch to healer, you have people too stupid to help you from getting facesmashed instantly.
Just came back for free weekend and like 5 games deep I was fighting a roaming group with 5 healers. If they're even remotely competent they are absolutely invincible. Your only option is aoe LB2 if you try to fight them and they can easily counter that too. SE need to fix HoTs stacking, that's by far the biggest issue. You're literally never outdamaging 3 Medica 2s and stacked regens on top of Lustrates. Even if you can somehow burst one down they have 4 people with instant rezzes. Your only option is to literally concede the point or outnumber them to hold it, in which case you're wasting more of your own time than theirs which can hurt.
That aside, Frontlines fuckin' owns. Having a blast playing so far. Seriously considering a resub and Frontlines is all I've touched so far. These random as fuck queue times are annoying as fuck too though.
Back during opening week, Sath and I ran frontlines. We both went SCH and the group had two other healers. One of the tanks whined about the number of healers in the group. We tore ass. Doubled up 2nd place. Healing groups are absolutely broken.
With that said, I was discussing an alternative strategy to the A left, B center, C right method.
B needs to take own fort and hit tower. A and C can concede either temple or markets and double up the other. After you take the market or temple with two parties, let a couple of healers hold the two of em and send about 18-20 people to center. After you control two (your own and market or fort), as well as center, the game is over. There's no point in trying to take three bases. None. If you can essentially assure yourself two and the center, you win.
I hope they add a Frontlines in future where they just put you in random groups rather than GC's to stop the fucking steamrolling by certain GC's.
And yeah healer groups are broken as hell because you need very specific set-ups to even have a chance of overpowering them. Unfortunately I've only ever hit the brick wall against them, I've never had a good one myself because whenever there's more than 2 healers in Adders, people fucking change. And if they don't they you can guarantee one or more of the healers are useless and unable to utilize the set-up correctly.
But yeah, I've seen people just lockdown areas with 4-5 healers and there's not much you can do without very good coordination.
Adders seem to have the massive problem of entering every match undermanned too. Like I had a 2 ally match the other night where 9 people didn't accept and all 9 were Adders. So we started with 7/16 in the ally. I'd say more often than not, we end up missing 4-6 at match start. I can't even remember the last match where we started with less than 2 people missing. They really need to let people join in progress before the gates open.
Ok, so I'm torn. Tried out a match on MNK for the first time, finally ran into an enemy party chock-full of healers (2 SCH, 2 WHM, assorted casters and a MRD) that actually made me re-think my position on how bad healers are. It was basically us (A) vs them for (in my perspective) the entire match, and we never took the base back until the very end. But they ended up losing by a ton anyways so I don't really know, maybe their mid team sucked.
What I found to ruin healerburn is Perfect Balance silence spam for a good ~10 seconds of "fuck you, no casting". But the first time I tried it I didn't really have the group behind me to take advantage. 2nd time it seemed to work; was able to zerg one down, then a 2nd, and the remaining 2 either blew their Divine Breath and Swiftraise or were just stupid.
Either way, only being able to be a "hard counter" every 3 minutes (or require 3 monks) is kind of extreme but I guess it's an option. Need more experience. And enough healers still basically make this pointless.
How did monk feel over all? I really want to try using it but it jsut seems so limited compared to what my Summoner or Whm can do.
Don't take my word for it, I literally have 1 match under my belt, but it feels kind of meh. Silence just feels like a key niche it can fill. I'm more curious about what DRG has over MNK; since they share Fetter Ward, Weapon Throw, and melee LB, I don't really know what else DRG brings to the table. Better burst?
Main thing to drill into your groups head on healer-heavy group is to be first with the majority standing on flag so it's under your control during the 5min+ skirmish.
Had a couple matches where we went up against a 4heal group with our 3healer, and we promptly stomped them and all their rezs due to DPS focusing on one target fortunately.
[EDIT] The fuck is with all the B teams on Immortals tonight with zero healers?
Fucking gridania needs to stick to crafting my gear because they are not doing SHIT! They bum rush us while uldah took bases and we still won.
Fuck Adders right now. Fucking 500-man murder squads romping around the map and they aren't even winning.
Don't forget that one WS that might aswell not exist in PvE - One-Ilm Punch. If you're trying to shut down a WHM using it instead of True Strike/Twin Snakes is huge. It'll rip Regen, Medica and Protect right off em. DRG has better burst, mobility and an actual sustainable ranged attack which if anything is helpful for interrupts at the very least.
Oh shit I had them mixed up, yeah it has been maelstrom vs adders non stop with the flames randomly screwing one team over with their flock of goons. Man tri-disaster is so good you can split a team in half instantly at the scrambles which gives a good cushion of time to bop a healer or blm. X-potion saved my ass and got me thinking do those out of battle res items work when you are not engaged in battle and what about stun potions and what not? Anyone messed with this crap?
