Caster LB serves you better in most cases.
That's what I was going to say... Melee LB would only be used to take out a single healer which you should be able to take out without it... and if there's 2 healers, the 2nd will likely swift-raise the first. I prefer saving up for caster LB2 and taking out an entire camp of people parked at a flag. Then, as I'm getting my BLM into position to do just that, some retarded DRG will usually waste it on a PLD or drone. The only other reason to melee LB is for the node.
Meh. I just liked one shotting things so :<
Just re: talk about going heavy on healers. It's pretty cheese, we had 5 healers in a group last night in group C. It just resulted in a prolonged battle for the point for the majority of the match. You really lack that burst damage which can undo groups quickly, which is a big problem if you need to take a point back under fire. You don't particularly want to rely so heavily on knockbacks and LB to be your clutch. Having said that it's just about essential to have a BLM in the group for LB, and our group was pushing their MP usage to the point where BRD got to use Manasong. We just ended up pissing Maelstrom off though, after getting turtled off the point they came back with 2 full parties and took us to bits.
Focused-fire from a group of coordinated healers should have no problem killing people.
Yeah, above. Currently on a 4 match winning streak for flames. Loving it.
Ah well, maybe we had inexperienced healers then. Certainly felt like less burst damage overall. We did hold the point for the majority of the match until we got quite forcefully removed from the point, so we did our part. You just can't rely on the rest of the adders in our server group from match to match.
i literally just entered a fight with 10 people on my side.
my party was full, PT B had two people, and C had 0. ZERO
That sounds amazing, how does a party with 0 look for new members?
They changed it so that it automatically starts adding members once the gate opens. Why they can't have it start adding members before the gate opens is beyond me.
I thought you could force it to look for new members immediately if someone withdraws before the gates open, but my memory could be wrong.
andQ6: Do have any plans to expand Frontline? If so, what kind of expansion do you have in mind?
A6: Looking at all regions, Japanese users seem to be playing Frontline content the most. Since it's receiving a lot of positive attention we are proactively looking into the addition of maps and rules. Map-wise, it's important to create them so it's balanced for all three groups, so we expect this to take a bit of time.
andQ3: In Frontline, PvP gear is somewhat disadvantageous since Morale is not utilized, but I’d really like to wear this gear and play. Can you please make it so glamours work in PvP only for PvP gear?
A3: In patch 2.35 we will be making it possible to use glamours. We are also aware of the disadvantages when it comes to the stats and we will be making adjustments.
andQ8: Please implement content for Frontline that allows us to compete for standings with other Grand Companies.
A8: While it's a bit different, we're currently testing Frontline rankings for the Lodestone and we will be releasing this shortly, so we'd like players to first use this feature. Additionally, we're thinking about holding a real-life PvP event at GamesCom in Germany for the first time. We'd like to use the same setup to hold PvP events around the world.
andQ11: Do you plan on adding another stat for PvP equipment instead of Morale for Frontline?
A11: We designed Frontline to be an even PvP playing field, so we are not thinking about adding Morale or swapping it for a different kind of stat. However, I understand that compared to other equipment with similar item levels, the PvP equipment is inferior, so we would like to make adjustments to this.
Can you tell I'm off sick >.> ?Q16: Please increase the maximum number of participants for Frontline.
A16: The Fronline map was designed specifically for this amount of players. If we change it to something like 30 vs. 30 vs. 30, it might break the balance of the map by having more players attack the center. If we decide to increase the maximum number of participants, we will have to create another map tailored specifically for that number of participants.
Man this is fun. I did my first two matches on Saturday (Maelstrom) as BRD. Won both easily and I think I did pretty well; 9 kills and 60,000 dmg on the 2nd go. I did a lot of Wolves' Den back in the day, so I'm not exactly a newb. Blast shot is hilarious on B team.

I think one of the worst days for me was getting my whole party Caster LB1'd on a base... and then a 2nd one at the same time.
Thank fuck for Lustrate (not that I lived long after).
