    I think I have a workaround.

    - set your xhotbar
    - copy your xhotbar to some class you don't care about, e.g.:

    /crosshotbar copy BRD 1 ARM 5

    - modify your xhotbar with desired PvP stuffs
    - copy your xhotbar to another meaningless slot:

    /crosshotbar copy BRD 1 ARM 6

    - make a PvE setup macro that contains /crosshotbar copy ARM 5 BRD 1
    - make a PvP setup macro that contains /crosshotbar copy ARM 6 BRD 1

This also works with /hotbar copy blahblah.

"Oh you silly DRG" moments of the week:

DRG runs up to someone and tries to hit LB (must be LB2 because he's it was too slow to be LB1). Is stunned. Does very obvious Leg Sweep and tries again, I knockback with Aura Blast. He dies without getting to use it.

Fast forward, same DRG stuns me, tries for LB2, loses facing or something. I mash Attunement, he still does LB2. 1k damage.

    lol.

Haha, I had a special DRG last week. I hear the limit break going off behind me, shat myself a little and turned to face expecting to cop it, only to see a DRG blow a Limit Break one of our SMN's pet's.

The matches are getting nice and even on my datacentre now, there's usually only a hundred or so points between first and second. Unless you come up against a team full of people like the above, then it's just about a certain win.

Hmm, Attunement does reduce the LB damage? I don't think I've seen someone ever use it for that, on my team or on enemy team. I always figured it went through, considering it's the most blatantly obvious solution and no one ever does it.

From what I understand LBs take a snapshot of the target's current condition upon activation and base their damage on that, so the only time you'd see Attunement (or anything else) reduce the damage is if it was already active when the LB was initiated and no one in their right mind is going to use an LB on a healer with Attunement up (hence why the DRG was particularly dim).

ie. DPS initiates LB -> healer uses Attunement -> healer takes full damage

    vs.

healer uses Attunement -> DPS initiates LB -> healer takes 90% reduced damage

It should take the "snapshot" when the LB cast bar is finished. So, technically the healer could use Attunement if he heard the sound or saw the bar before it was done casting.

For LB1s it is almost impossible to Attunement on reaction. Basically just have to anticipate it based on behavior.

Someone brought up a good point that casters can be using their LB as a scare tactic; cancel the cast before it finishes, scare them with the AoE marker. Not sure if it really works (ie, if it registers you being in casting mode fast enough if you interrupt it), but something to consider.

^ It can work if you do it once or twice a fight. I've had it scare off tanks and healers from the point.

Posting Frontline records is like posting CT parses.

Wolves' Den I understand, but in Frontline your party can hold a flag from wire-to-wire and you can still finish 3rd.

So I'm starting to get into Frontlines (need 'dose acc's to desynth), but I have PLD, WAR, SMN, BLM, SCH all geared. Any guides/hints for play? I feel like I'm not doing anything productive :/

PLD: Obviously low damage but stunlock is great for coordinated stack attacks, assuming other DPS didnt waste your stun DR.
WAR: Holmgang is arguably even better escape denial than stunlock, and still has a stun. Pretty sure I've gotten more Mercy Stroke killshots in PvP than the entirety of PvE.
BLM: Hard to play well imo; need a good understanding of when to sleep, when to bind/heavy, when to drop the hammer (LB), and when you're free to nuke mode. In a non-premade you can almost always throw sleep/bind out the window because people hit whatever they want.
SMN: Not experienced enough to say anything great about it, I haven't been that impressed with enemy SMNs and struggle to find reasons to bring one over (say) a SCH or a BLM for the CC/damage side.
SCH: Adlo forever. Arguably the most durable single job because unless enemies are smart with interrupts, you can Adlospam yourself forever and it's like auto-Surecast.

Strat for any given job doesn't vary that much. If your party doesn't have at least 2 healers you will probably fail horribly unless you are B sometimes.

Premades that I go with on Hyperion/Primal data center are mostly like...

A/C: Go to A/C base and take+keep it, once you have a solid hold on it you can harass the outpost of the side you're on or even spawn-camp them.
B: Go to mid, keep mid clean. This is a controversial strat it seems but it works fine if A/C can keep their flags.

Main thing to keep in mind as A/C is that if that base's flag is overrun (2 parties vs your 1), stop pushing it. You're not going to win, and the other team is wasting manpower holding it with so many. Go take their outposts instead. This is also a huge trap players fall into when a team is spawncamping you and has your outpost: don't take the bait. Go somewhere else.

Also if you're B, be in middle early. First drones spawn at 27:00, the next drones spawn 3 minutes after the last set dies. The ramp up to mid alone is like a 20 second run, and depending on where you are on the map that can be another 20 seconds to even get to the ramp, and then you have to deal with any other teams there if you have the time.

Finally, if your GC has like 20 people in mid and get credit for a single mob, they all need to uninstall.

Play SMN or SCH. SMN can put out insane DPS and SCH can be nearly invincible if played well.

People really need to wrap their head around the fact that for all the damage SMN can do, it's all very easy to heal.

I used this example before but: if I ran around on MRD and use Fracture on every target I could my total damage would go up by a ton, but I would have accomplished dick all as far as killing anyone.

PLD - Shield bash/irritate healers while your group focuses them down. Cover your own healer if one is getting targeted so they can cast
WAR - MRD it up, pretend you're a DPS. Holmgang lulz on running healers.
SMN - I don't find this job very good at all outside of 1v1 situations.
BLM - Sleep-ho, then unleash the Fire fury, assuming other team isn't targeting you. Can heavy targets also. Don't know how, but a BLM my FC premades grabs regularly gets 15+ kills consistently.
SCH - Full VIT accessories and PVP Vit stat allocation; manderville on every corpse that failed to kill you with an LB1. Hold a flag solo until there's more than two DPS on you, in which case hope you group is back from pushing an outpost.

Surprises me how many DPS didn't get the "Don't 1v1 a healer" memo. Only job that can be a nuisance 1v1 as a healer is against a WHM, since they can Fluid Aura you off a flag and keep you Repose'd long enough to cap your point.
