PvP will be completely unplayable soon if that's the case.

Yeah. I thought maybe it gave a 5% chance to resist the debuff at best... not straight out whack x seconds from the debuff durations. CC is annoying as fuck, sure, but it's also a necessary component. Removing it completely is stupid.
It seems a bit odd in that it doesn't seem to chop off literally 5 seconds or so (at least in my experience), but it's a significant reduction. First Brutal Swing of the match will stun me for 2-3s for instance.
If you highlight the stat itself, it confirms that it reduces duration by some amount as opposed to adding a resist chance - which is fine with me, I think that randomness should be cut out of PvP as much as possible (I know XI didn't really have much in the way of PvP, but the fact that debuffs in that game were essentially random in PvP (granted you could reduce them) killed a lot of the chance of long-term growth in my opinion).
EDIT: I know I seem to be giving conflicting information but I have inconsistent results. Sorry about that!
Don't think it's been discussed yet (or I just can't find it because I have horrible luck with the search) but how viable do some of those ilvl 90 pieces seem for the "allagan/relic2 ain't gonna happen" crowd? I seem to like the ilvl90 neck and pants given the mind & determination for my whm. Would it be worth cashing points on those items as a full-time piece if darklight might be the most i'm delegated for a while?
Now need a script that will make me DF PVP die, and restart so i can farm pts while sleeping
My WAR in 30 cap usually is top DPS too, Tomahawk is brutal for when you can't keep the mage stunned and they start to slip away. I also use Purify to keep going if they sleep me right off the bat, they usually turn away to my 3 teammates the second they sleep me, always seems to catch them off guard to be getting hit by me immediately after they slept me.
If this is true, within 1 month or so, it will be nearly impossible to kill a healer that is in full ilvl90 using materia for status effects overmelding for sleep, bind, slow and stun and top it off with PVP skills.
Probably more so an sch that can heal through HP reduction effects.
Are you sure it's 5 seconds? On lolOF people were saying 5 sleep resist knocks off only two seconds.
Yeah tried +5 stun food earlier and still saw 4 sec stuns. Seems like sleep will be the only one worth melding for if its +2 = 2% reduction. Stuns don't last long enough and disease resist materia doesn't exist. Maybe mages will like heavy resist for Stone/Weapon Throw too but idk. Kinda bs you can't reduce the most OP debuff out there, SMN has no counter!
Any PLDs or DRGs feel like sharing what you've spent your marks and AP on? Got tired of being a high priority target in week 1 on SCH, thought about revisiting as one of these two.
Does anyone know which are the best actions to lvl up for PVP as WAR? I have purify (without upgrade) but I really don't know what to invest in after that.
As PLD I spent points on Enliven to get my TP back after I pop sprint to chase the healers, and I've spent points on Full swing for a nice help on burst on stunned targets
OF PvP forum has a bunch of topics raving about how bunnyhopping is breaking PvP or something. Cancels spells/melee. C/D? I haven't touched since like day 3 still, so.
I've seen that too, but as a stalking monk I can't tell the difference from jumping people other than they showing themselves as obvious r*tards attempting to exploit.
What is most annoying for melee seems to run in circles around a column, or changing direction a lot in short intervals (also strafing to negate Weapon Throw - sprint removal).
By the way, since someone asked, I don't think ANY accuracy is required at all for PvP since PvP gear doesn't offer any.
I don't think Hallowed Ground + Raise is possible since PLD can't raise in combat?
Didn't believe it until I saw it....it's alive and its fkn annoying....I guess that means they'll fix this on what summer of next year? *sigh* But what I'm seeing in my matches is as you target someone they'll pop in the other side of the arena. No jumping seen and the distance longer than that of my drg ability. I did actually turn around and activate my jump backwards to get nearer. Wherever they bunnyhop/mini-teleport to its beyond the range of my any jump ability I have at lvl 40. I'm also seeing it by the same group of players.
