I believe it's just stoneskin for 'Ruda. I've killed in both orders, it doesn't really matter
Speaking of stoneskin, fun fact, we used a Lv3 BLM LB to kill Garuda while her stoneskin effect was still up just to see if it would work, and it did (tiny chance it was a lingering DoT that killed her, but I doubt it). Apparently LB damage bypasses the stoneskins (caster LB, at least) since her stoneskins are specifically for "physical" and "magical" damage. Weird. I guess that explains why caster LB is unaffected by Foe Requiem; it must not be considered "magical damage".
That's kind of interesting since I think we did melee LB on her while stoneskin was up and it didn't seem to do anything. Guess it's still considered physical?
So did a few times of killing Suparna first, and I'm convinced it's alright. Just wanted to reiterate stuff for people who don't wanna scroll through the pages to find new info (?s if I'm not positive on something).
-Garuda's instant cast Friction always targets a healer.
-Wicked Wheel is pretty much always preceded immediately by Downburst (frontal cone swipe). In tornado phase the first things Garuda does will usually be Friction > Downburst > spawns tornados > Wicked Wheel. Suparna will do her WW at the same time.
-Suparna enables Garuda's super Stoneskin, does Wicked Wheel.
-Chirada, once the green line is up, puts up a minor HoT effect on Suparna(?), and does a more powerful Downburst (hits about as hard as WW). If Chirada reaches 50% and Suparna is still alive, Garuda and Suparna will jump and swap hate+positions.
-During sister phases, Garuda has access to Wicked Wheel as long as any sister is alive.
-Spiny Plume applies a stack of Thermal Low every 20 seconds. The debuff lasts 30 seconds so you know it's coming when you have 10 seconds remaining. In the "eye of the storm" phase it should apply 3 stacks total. In the tornado phase it should apply 5? I think.
Chirada first is kind of a "does tank survive double WW or do they not" check. Suparna first splits the WW damage but MT will also be taking big hits a little more regularly because of Chirada's Downburst. Killing Suparna first can generally make the fight go faster since you can DoT up Garuda while killing Chirada.
Killing sup first is a bit easier for tp with melee. Instead of making melee run away for double ww
idk what yall niggas doing but garuda with stoneskin doesnt get dmged from bane dots.
Did 3 way last night with the Coil Static. Worked very well, smooth AND fast.
- Standard 2 tanks/2 heals
- 2 melee. 2 ranged DPS
- MT 11, OT 1, DPS 7
- DPS kill/tank Chirada first @ 7
- Garuda/Supurna Swap did not pose any issues with the tanks being apart. It almost feels natural to split them at 11/1.
Our DPS is right up there though, Garuda died in mid air after the second plume phase, which was pretty amusing.
We've been doing Suparna first with great success. It just seems a LOT easier taking her out first.
And yeah Seravi, I've noticed that tank thing too.. We did a FC run with a pair of pick-up tanks because our normal tanks were unavailable, and they panicked and wiped us several times because they couldn't handle the extra damage from Downburst. (Yeah I know it makes no sense to me either)

Did 1 tank, 1 heal setup and 1 archer to provoke spiny, dear god she dies quick.
Every group on Gilgamesh absolutely refuses to do anything other than the "standard" strategy of MT holding Garuda/Suparna and having OT grab Chirada first and down her first. And it's always the same answer given to me why they refuse to try something different: "This is the way I've always done it". Drives me nuts how closed-minded these idiots can be.
If it ain't broke don't fix it?
Except there is no real advantage of killing Suparna first. Double wicked wheel won't kill a tank and if OT is competent you will swap Spiny/Suparna after Chirada dies.
The advantage to Suparna first is being able to apply DoTs to (or in some borderline cases, kill) Garuda while you beat down Chirada.
Also, unless I'm mistaken, killing Chirada first means your melees don't have to shit their pants and run away for every wicked wheel (at least, while killing Chirada).
**I'm not actually 100% sure on this, since we do Suparna first. Someone once said killing Chirada took away Garuda's WW, so that seems like the safer route if you have melees in the party, though I guess you'd still have to run for Suparna's WWs.
