    idk why you're using a non-integer mote version but, whatever.
    Oh, neat! I didn't know much at all about what I could do with mote's User-Globals. I was naming the file charnameaugs.lua but now that I changed it to Charname-Globals.lua it is working, as you said it would. I'll have to start brainstorming what else I can use User-Globals for.. Any suggestions?

    I use non-integer mote-include versions simply for organizational and protection purposes. The label 0.1 tells me that it's my custom version of mote-include version 1. I have quite a lot of edits in my mote library and so I rename my libraries to version #s that are not in use so that they don't get overwritten if/when a mote library update gets pushed down the pipeline.

    Thanks for letting me in on User-Globals, Lygre!

    Sure thing man. The only things coming to mind right now are things handy for multi boxing. If you do like I do, I generally play from one instance, and use send commands to control the others. So, like, for the Char I normally use as the 'core control center,' I would maybe put a series of key binds to make so when its specific Globals is loaded, to initialize those binds specifically for multi boxing. I would take caution to make sure none of them overlap with key binds in your job.lua, as I think those would take precedence over any coinciding ones from the globals. I'm a bit wasted currently, so if that made no sense, I'll change it later.

    Crashing

    So I tried to multibox with dlsmd gs using basic gear sets and just the exp/cp ring selected, it starts out working but then pol crashes on the recast of the rings. Any suggestions?

    Posted this over on XIAH.com as well.

    Ran into this problem with my GearSwap this morning... I logged off for the evening about ~8 hours ago with no problems. Sauntered up to Aello this morning and was presented with the following error:

    gearswap/equip_processing.lua:268: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)

    Can anyone assist with a) finding a solution to the current issue b) explain what it is this function is doing in general?

    Thank you in advance for the help :D :D

    Here's is line 259 through 279 (the function it seems to be a part of):

    Code:
    function to_names_set(equipment)
        local equip_package = {}

        for ind,cur_item in pairs(equipment) do
            local name = 'empty'
           if type(cur_item) == 'table' and cur_item.slot ~= empty then
                if items[to_bag_api(res.bags[cur_item.bag_id].english)][cur_item.slot].id == 0 then return {} end
                -- refresh_player() can run after equip packets arrive but before the item array is fully loaded,
                -- which results in the id still being the initialization value.
                name = res.items[items[to_bag_api(res.bags[cur_item.bag_id].english)][cur_item.slot].id][language]
            end
            if tonumber(ind) and ind >= 0 and ind <= 15 and math.floor(ind) == ind then
                equip_package[toslotname(ind)] = name
            else
                equip_package[tostring(ind)] = name
            end
        end

        return equip_package
    end

    No error message before the pol has stop working message. It was working fine when using just one character and capacity ring.

    It was pretty awesome, I love that you can turn things on and off with a click rather than needing to manually edit or use binds. I am working on adding a few additional gear sets to toggle between.

    im glad

    and so you know its setup so you have your 3 sets Engaged/Idle/Resting skipping Weapons/Range gear
    then you have your Main/Sub hand gear (Weapon setting)
    then you have your Range/Ammo gear (Range setting)
    --all the above are controlled by the in game display to build your default sets for all occasions
    then you can add in different armor sets to adjust your gear for different occasions (Armor setting)
    --all the above happens before you even try to equip your ja/ma/etc. gear
    the you have sets for each ja/ma/etc. and the cool part about this is you only ever need to add the gear that you want to use for each of them NOTE: this does mean that you will need to build sets for ma in both precast/and midcast and if you are using a ja/ma that requires you to have an equipped item you will need to add a precast as well

    the above is what makes my include hard to use but once you get used to it it becomes easy

    then ofcorse you have all these as well
    -- Ammo -- auto opens arrow/bolt/bullet bags(that are in you inventory) when you run out of ammo and try to use /range
    -- Conquest_Gear -- automatically switches around you conquest gear depending on your zone and its conquest info
    -- CorsairShot_Cards -- auto opens card cases(that are in you inventory) when you try to use cor shot and you do not have any cards left
    -- MSi(Magian Stave) -- auto switches main and sub to the the correct magen stave and elemental grip(when casting a spell)
    -- Ninja_Tool -- auto opens nin tool bags(that are in you inventory) when you use a ninjutsu and do not have the correct tools to cast it
    -- Ninja_Wheel -- auto nin elemental wheel
    -- Special_Weapons -- counts an switches your ws to the correct one when your main hand holds a fake mythic weapon(from abyssea)
    -- Debug -- gives more info then gearswap does based on the settings you give it
    -it is recommended you do not turn the below off
    -- Display -- displays all possible settings on screen
    -- File_Write -- saves user setting and other data so it can be recovered the next time you use the same job
    -- Registered_Events -- add events not included with gearswap(i.e. level watch, skill lvl watch,etc.)

    The variables.xlsx in gearswap's beta_examples_and_information folder lists a indi effect table.
    Code:
    indi_change(indi_table,gain) function Passes the indi effect table when an indi aura changes and a boolean that indicates whether it was gained or lost.
    I've been looking through the windower libs (windower>addons>libs) and res (windower>res) folders and I have been unable to find this table as of yet. I would like to learn how it works and how to use its values.

    Could someone tell me where to locate it, please? Thanks!

    There are two things you can do when you come across a variable that isn't documented: open up gearswap and look for the code that creates it, or log-in and print everything out. The second is almost always faster:
    Code:
    function indi_change(t, gain)
        for k, v in pairs(t) do
            print(k, v)
        end
    end
    Force the function to be called a few times and go from there.

    Here's the section of code that creates the table:
    Code:
                _ExtraData.player.indi = {
                        element = res.elements[indi_byte%8][language],
                        element_id = indi_byte%8,
                        size = math.floor((indi_byte%64)/16) + 1, -- Size range of 1~4
                    }
                if (indi_byte%16)/8 >= 1 then
                    _ExtraData.player.indi.target = 'Enemy'
                else
                    _ExtraData.player.indi.target = 'Ally'
                end
    I have no idea what the size value represents (I don't play GEO).

    it is related to the radius of the fart-cloud aura, with 1 being the smallest and 4 being the largest. Widened Compass should affect it, but I've never checked.

    Thanks trv, next time I'm trying to find something I'll try using that print method as my first step.

    Byrth, I just tried this with the above print method. My default indi-spells were size 2 and Widened Compass increased them to size 4. You hit the nail on the head.

    Thanks for your input trv and Byrth. Now that I've found this table I don't know what I can end up using it for though, lol.

    in both indi parts use the same indi table tho indi_change has gain (true/false)
    indi_change(indi_table,gain)
    player.indi

    element == the element of the currently up indi spell
    element_id == the element id of the currently up indi spell
    target == target type of the currently up indi spell (Ally or Enemy)
    size == the size info (1-4) of the currently up indi spell

    ill write something up to show how to use indi_table and player.indi just give me 1 day

    ok here you go
    Code:
    function indi_controle (tbl,spell)
        local indi_table = {["Indi-Regen"]={target="Ally",buff=539},["Indi-Poison"]={target="Enemy"},["Indi-Refresh"]={target="Ally",buff=541},
        ["Indi-Haste"]={target="Ally",buff=580},["Indi-STR"]={target="Ally",buff=542},["Indi-DEX"]={target="Ally",buff=543},["Indi-VIT"]={target="Ally",buff=544},
        ["Indi-AGI"]={target="Ally",buff=545},["Indi-INT"]={target="Ally",buff=546},["Indi-MND"]={target="Ally",buff=547},["Indi-CHR"]={target="Ally",buff=548},
        ["Indi-Fury"]={target="Ally",buff=549},["Indi-Barrier"]={target="Ally",buff=550},["Indi-Acumen"]={target="Ally",buff=551},["Indi-Fend"]={target="Ally",buff=552},
        ["Indi-Precision"]={target="Ally",buff=553},["Indi-Voidance"]={target="Ally",buff=554},["Indi-Focus"]={target="Ally",buff=555},
        ["Indi-Attunement"]={target="Ally",buff=556},["Indi-Wilt"]={target="Enemy"},["Indi-Frailty"]={target="Enemy"},["Indi-Fade"]={target="Enemy"},
        ["Indi-Malaise"]={target="Enemy"},["Indi-Slip"]={target="Enemy"},["Indi-Torpor"]={target="Enemy"},["Indi-Vex"]={target="Enemy"},["Indi-Languor"]={target="Enemy"},
        ["Indi-Slow"]={target="Enemy"},["Indi-Paralysis"]={target="Enemy"},["Indi-Gravity"]={target="Enemy"},}
        local indi = indi_table[spell.en]
        if indi then
            if tbl.target == "Ally" and indi.target == "Ally" then
                if tbl.element == indi.element then
                    if buffactive[indi.buff] then
                        cancel_spell()
                    end
                end
            elseif tbl.target == indi.target and tbl.element == indi.element then
                cancel_spell()
            end
        end
    end
    then you put one of these in yor function depending on ware your checking it from
    indi_controle (indi_table,spell)
    or
    indi_controle (player.indi,spell)

    I am now getting the below error whenever i try to cast a cure spell.
    attempt to call global 'refine_cure' (a nil value)

    I have the function defined in Mote-Utility.lua

    is it not allowed anymore? I hope not else all healing job i need to manually add it in....

    Ok I am still getting pol crashing using the trizek ring code (even when not multiboxing) but it seems to work fine with capacity rings, any ideas?

    Trizek, I even reverted to use your example gs to see if it was something I had written.

    i have a few questions
    1. when does it happen??
    2. whats going on when it happens
    3. are there are no errors showing in in windower's console log?? (you can record what is there by using "//console_log 1" and it will save it to the Windower4/console.log file)
    4. you can also record the a chat log by using the Logger addon (which put the chat logs into Windower4/Logs)
    5. you can also create crash dumps with this (https://github.com/Windower/Issues/w...ic-crash-dumps)

    its unfortunate that i cant do anything right now because i could not pay for ffxi this month but with some info i might be able to fix it
